Canon Pixma Mx459 All-in-one Inkjet Scanner/copier/printer/fax Questions & Answers
Trying to use adf but tells me to put original on platen
You need to check the settings for scanning. The machine wants to use the platen because that is what it has been set up to do, or you are using a sheet size the machine doesn't know about. Again go through the scanner settings both on the machine and any attached computers.
No matter whatido cant send fax keeps saying off the hook
Try unplugging other phones (from the phone jacks) that are on the same line. Also, remove any phone that is plugged in to the fax machine, if there is one attached. If that doesn't work, swap the phone cable on your all-in-one printer/fax with a different one. Lastly, try a different phone jack all together.
I can tell you I had the same problem with my fax/printer, and it ended up being a bad phone cable. It, the cable, worked fine with a handset, but not with the fax. Good luck.
My fax machine is saying off hook but the printer is working
Hello, my name is Steve. It sounds like your Fax machine has detected that the phone lie to your machine is still "opened".
The Fax board that detects the signal for the incoming fax tone is either not connected or it has an open circuit.
If you have another cable that goes to the Fax try this as a replacement. If this corrects the problem, then the fault is the cable from the connection of the wall to the fax machine.
If this does not, then if you have another source, connect it...like a telephone. If you hear a dial-tone then it is not the line-in.
The part that failed is the Fax-card or the Logic board...
I hope this helps, best regards, steve
Scanner canon dr6030 cants pull the paper
Troubleshoot this issue step by step:
Check the Feed Selection Lever:
Ensure that the Feed Selection Lever (located on the lower left side of the front of the scanner) is in the correct position (up) for separation.
Straighten the edges of the stack of documents to be scanned.
Set the document guides so they are wider than the document to be scanned.
Place the documents face up into the feed tray, ensuring they touch the document stoppers.
Clear Any Jammed Paper:
Be careful when removing jammed paper to avoid cuts.
Remove any documents that have been left in the eject tray.
Close the document eject tray.
If the document ejection is stopped partway, perform this operation with the document eject tray extension open.
Hold the upper unit as shown in the diagram and open it to the point where you can remove the jammed document. The pickup roller is located in the middle of the upper unit. Do not hold the protrusion on the upper unit when opening it, as it may deform the pickup roller or cause a feeding error.
Close the feeder cover.
If the jam occurred in the feed section, pull the document out carefully without applying too much force. Be sure to remove any torn parts remaining in the scanner.
Close the upper unit slowly, ensuring it clicks into place. Do not force it to close, as this may damage the scanner.
After removing the jammed paper, check if the last page was scanned, and then continue scanning.
Rapid Recover System:
If a paper jam occurs when the "Rapid Recover System" is enabled in the ISIS/TWAIN driver settings, the image of the document is not saved, and scanning stops. You can continue scanning from the document that caused the paper jam after fixing the issue.
Additional Considerations:
Make sure the pickup rollers retract when the machine is powered on.
Check that the stopper plates are in the down position.
Verify that the upper unit is completely closed after clearing the jam.
Remember to handle the scanner components carefully to avoid damage. If the issue persists, consider seeking professional assistance or contacting Canon support for further guidance
