Dvd-r problems
Unplug your AC power cord for a minimum of 30 seconds to clear the RAM. The RAM is used solely for dvd class history, and clearing this should solve your issue.
If you want to convert your player to region free, which will allow you to play ANY dvd:
1 Disconnect your player from its power source for thirty seconds
2) Reconnect your player to its power source
3) Press the Power On button on your remote control
4) Press the Enter button on your remote control
5) Press the 8 button on your remote control
6 Press the 4 button on your remote control
7) Press the 2 button on your remote control
8) Press the 6 button on your remote control
9) Press the 9 button on your remote control
10)Press the Enter button on your remote control
11)Your player should now place itself in Standby mode
12)Press the Power On button on your remote control
A word of caution if your convert your player is that disc eject issues may arise in which you will have to eject from the unit, or toggle your power switch on/off.....good luck my friend.

Your player is now region free. A word of caution is that you may have disc eject issues, in which case you will have to eject from the unit, or toggle the power switch on/off. This issue only arises if you have a particular chipset in your player (about a 20% chance).....good luck my friend.
Samsung HT-DB120 no voices on dvd
when unplug it from the main outlet, sometimes it goes to defualt setting. check your audio setting..make sure you set according to the speakers that you have. good luck

Try disconnecting the speakers one at a time. You may have a shorted speaker. If all are disconnected and it still does not come on, then, you probably have a shorted output.
System switches itself off
The HT-DB120 has an automatic shut down that should turn off after 20 min of idle mode, it seems yours is malfunctioning.
try disconecting the DVD from power for a few minutes.
DVD player not playing DVD's

The laser lens in your player is dirty or failing.
To fix your problem, try the following solutions:
Clean the laser lens with a DVD player lense cleaning disc.
Lense cleaning discs are available at many electronics retail stores.
