On power up the blu

Generally speaking, an amp attempts to protect itself from heat, shorts, overloads and operator exuberance by refusing to turn on or stay on.

Overloads can be from excessive periods of high output or marginally low impedance loading by the speakers; and shorts would be wiring issues or a speaker blowing up.

You should be able to feel if it's hot. WHY is it overheating? Make sure it has sufficient ventilation on all sides and that vent holes are not blocked by dust balls. Ensure the fan (if equipped) is running as designed (some only operate on demand). Clean dust and debris from it.

If the amp comes back on after cooling, you're lucky. They only have so many self-protection cycles in their lives so continuously resetting or cycling their power without addressing the cause can do more harm than good.

If it protects immediately on a cool power up you should disconnect the speaker connections and try it 'naked'. If it comes up then diagnose which lead(s) are shorted. If it does not come up the problem is internal and should be left to an experienced and competent hands-on tech.

Check for loose speaker connections as a root cause for intermittent shutdown.

HT-Z320 displays PROT code and then shuts down

i had the same problem a prot display then it would shut down. turns out i had the sub disconnected(noise complaint from the shaking at my apartment complex) but the speaker wires for the sub connected to the amp or central unit. when i disconnected the sub i left the wires on the floor behind the sub separating the pos. and neg. somehow the wires got moved around and the pos was touching the neg. as soon as i noticed and fixed this problem the system was working fine. my samsung hometheater model is HT-BD1250

DVD player stopped playing DVD

Hi,

This is what you should do, locate the lens on the DVD player and use a cotton wool to clean it softly. Do this gently and you'll be able to play your DVD once more.

Samsung HT-X30 psu diode blown

The surest way is to get a schematic and get the value from there if you can't get a number off the diode itself.

NTE580

Surely you can find an NTE580 equivilant in the UK. This is just a 600v 3a silicon diode. I would think you could find a substitute for this at any electronic part supplier in the UK. The NTE numbering system is the same as the ECG system and everyone subs by these numbering systems. Good luck.

Protection

Protection means the unit is detecting a short somewhere. Disconnect speakers and components and attempt to power on the unit again. If it will power on with nothing connected, repeat the process (turn off, connect something, then power on) until you find the bad component or speaker.

Samsung HT-DB120 DVD tray

I assume it DID work at one time. You need to take it apart and see how the tray is driven... belt or gear. If belt driven you could replace the belt.

Regional code change for a samsung ht-db120n

1) Disconnect your player from its power source for thirty seconds 2) Reconnect your player to its power source 3) Press the Power On button on your remote control 4) Press the Enter button on your remote control 5) Press the 8 button on your remote control 6) Press the 4 button on your remote control 7) Press the 2 button on your remote control 8) Press the 6 button on your remote control 9) Press the 9 button on your remote control 10)Press the Enter button on your remote control 11)Your player should now place itself in Standby mode 12)Press the Power On button on your remote control. Your player is now region free. A word of caution is that you may have disc eject issues, in which case you will have to eject from the unit, or toggle the power switch on/off. This issue only arises if you have a particular chipset in your player (about a 20% chance).....good luck my friend.

cheapest and most logical start to the solution is to replace the optical block. looks like its focal point is drifting at a certain temp.almost impossible to pick up that problem without having that problem before. if i can advise, when you recieve the new part, unsolder the small bridgepiece that they put in for protection. if you dont, the unit will never work.
