I have a Pioneer DEH-P300IB car stereo that is malfunctioning.

There would not have been any problem if you could have swittched off power to the set immediately when it got water logged. Now there is a possibilty that some of your sensitive electronics have got shorted with the conductivity of water. If you are lucky then follow this: take the set out and taken the panels and the main unit out. remove carefully without any damage while removing. use a hair dryer and carefully use to expell moisture. please do not overheat but use it in intervals for about 12 hours. assemble the set after your inspection shows total dryness. If you notice any while smears of electrolysis, then use petrol to dry the PCB but do NOT use in Plastics, mechanism or panel display. Reassemle and test. Good luck. Good day

European Wiring harness not compatible with US bought Stereo

This is not as straightforward as you may think.

You can certainly buy a generic adapter harness which will plug into the European DIN harness and then provide you with the bare wire tails to patch into. You may even find one which plugs directly into the rear of your head unit without the need for patching.

But you'll find that your head unit still won't work properly as the US uses a different FM channel range to Europe (US frequencies are odd, e.g.102.7, Euro frequencies are even e.g.102.8). The channel spacing is also different.

The radio itself cannot be converted, but you may be able to buy an external converter. It won't be cheap, and the head unit display will still always show the wrong frequencies. Channel changing may have to be done directly on the adapter and not on the head unit as I don't think that the DEH-P3000 has any way to communicate a request for a channel change to any external device and this also means that radio channel presetting may be impractical/impossible.

Considering that the DEH-P3000 is an obsolete unit and nothing special to begin with you can buy a brand new Euro-spec head unit of equivalent quality for less than the cost of adapting your unit and it will work correctly without any awkward Heath Robinson adaptations.

Sell your Pioneer back to the USA where it belongs or bin it as it's useless over here.

How do I change the clock?

For most Pioneer single CD players, you can set the clock using the following steps:
  1. Press and hold the SOURCE button until the unit shuts off.
  2. Press and hold SOURCE again until the clock appears.
*With some models you will press and hold the FUNCTION or AUDIO button instead of the SOURCE button.
  3. Press the left or right arrow to select the segment of time you wish to adjust.
  4. Press the up or down arrows to increase or decrease the numbers in the blinking segment.
  5. Once the clock is set correctly, press the SOURCE button to exit

Pioneer deh-p3000 when i turn the key off and back

did you wire the radio yourself? it sounds like you have the yellow wire connected to a switched power source. the yellow wire needs to go to a power source which is always hot, or constant, whether the key is on or not.
