Perhaps a couple of the contacts are shorted against one another. A Youtube search for disassembly of your laptop should show you how to disassemble it, but I suspect the USB ports are soldered to the motherboard. If you can look at the broken port and cut out any loose, r shorted wire, you might get the other to work. You could also plug a self-powered USB hub into the other side, if it's working.. much cheaper than a new motherboard.

The VGA connector on the laptop is for an external screen, I would'nt connect 2 laptops together like that.

Is it a BIOS password or just a Windows password? If it's the BIOS password, you can do 2 things; 1- remove the BIOS battery located inside of the motherboard, remove it for 24 hrs to be sure there is no more data. 2- take it to the repaire shop and they might be able to help you.
If it's just the Windows password you will need software called "password remover" you can find it online for around $20 or take it to the same repair shop and they can open it for you using the same software. You will need this software to remove any "Windows Password"
