Toshiba RD-XS32 DVD Recorder Questions & Answers
DEAD, NO TURN ON, CHECKED INTERNAL FUSE OK
If the internal fuse is okay, then what you got here is a bad power supply. Many power supply's do die with the internal fuse intact what happends is the High voltage tranformer or relay goes out on you causing this to happed, Best thing to do is replace the unit becuase a new power supply would cost you more then the unit new. Let me know if you have any question.

Wont take blank discs
This is one of the hardest problems to solve. The first thing you can do is run a lens cleaner throught the machine. There is a distinct possiblility that there is a spec of dust on the lens. What I've done with a couple of machines I've come across is to perform a little bit of "percussive maintenance" by rapping the machine with your hand as it is trying to read the blank disk. Both times this has worked for me. This is unconventional advice, but works sometimes. Beyond that, the machine will need to be taken in for service.
Don't know how to set channels w/new cable box.
Use channel 3 or 4 or hook up the RCA jacks. If you use 3 or 4 leave it on that channel and use the cable box to change channel. Use RCA jacks (best) turn the channel on the recorder to line in ether LINE1 or LINE2 with one you plug it up to and leave it on that channel.
