Most DVD players are connected to one of the rear audio/video inputs--hook to that input and select it on the TV--then hit play and if connected correctly you will see the movie.

If it is HD ready it will have HD component cable hookups. They are the red, blue, and green color coded hook up. You may also have RGB hookups which will look like a usb port. If speakers are ok then the sound output ic of your tv is faulty. If you have basic knowledge in electronics then you can replace the ic. You can find the ic by following the wires from the speakers. It will end near the sound out put ic. The ic will be fitted on an aluminum heat sink. Note that number of that ic and get a new one from the nearest electronic spare part shop.For replacing the ic you need some tools like screwdriver de-soldering pump soldering iron, solder etc. All these thing will get from the spare part shop, if you don't have the same.Be sure to open the tv only after half an hour after dismantling the power because electrolytic capacitors inside it will store the power for some time.

Yes,this tv is able to play HD signal,but must have pay cable or satellite signal hook it up to it.This tv is CRT-(tube tv) analog design tv,antena alone will not work without a converter box.

You need a new projector bulb. Google up your model and buy the best warranteed one you can find. Buy a "caged assembly" and not just a bare bulb.

Then unplug your tv and get a screwdriver. Follow your model's instructions and just snug down the electrical screws. Do not overtighten them.

Then consult your manual on how to reset the lamp timer so it knows you put a new bulb in and fires up from the first try.

Treat yourself because you've just saved yourself a trip from a repairman!!

Projection TV sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the video to look normal. When its out of alignment the video will look 3D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the TV menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired.

This is a very common failure on these projection sets and a fairly simple DIY fix. All projeciton sets including Samsung, RCA, Sony, Philip Magnavox, Panasonic, Pioneer, Akai, GE, JVC, Toshiba, and others at some point will have the same problem.

Common Symptoms include....

• Screen looks 3D
• Colors don't line up
• One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
• Screen is bowed or warped.
• TV shuts off after powering on. Power light will blink. TV may also make a chirping noise.

Here is a quick test....

Using your original remote go-to the settings menu then goto the convergence section.

Try to adjust the red and then the blue convergence.

You should be able to move RED and BLUE in all directions - up, down, left, and right. And you should be able to get the grid straight.

If you can't move them in all directions or cant move them far enough your convergence chips are bad and should be replaced. This is a common problem.

Note: If you TV has as flash focus or magic focus button only try pressing the button. If it fails to fix the convergence your need to fix it. See below for a fix

CONVERGENCE SOLUTION

You will need to replace the convergence chips and possibly some convergence resistors and pico fuses.
This is a a fairly easy DIY job if you are handy and can follow directions. You can get complete repair kits from TvRepairKits.com or click here. They have put together DIY repair kits that include the OEM parts and step by step photo instructions for each repair. If you are not handy or can't follow directions we would suggest calling a shop.

This TV does not use a bulb. It is a Picture tube type set.
*No picture but there is a dim background. Menu works.
This is caused by a bad signal. Perhaps the video cable is bad if you use a cable box. The HDMI cable may not be working right. Try a new cable.
*No picture, no menu
This could be caused by a failure in the part that draws the picture up and down (The vertical). Can also be the side to side (Horizontal) or a high voltage problem. The last usually kills the sound as well so its not as likely.
If the cable does not fix it, you will likely need a technician.

Call Encomparr Parts 1-800-638-3328 if they do not have any then Call local Repair Shops ask do they have any.

you should have mute on other device and vol- vol+ best thing to do you call your cable service provider and ask them why your sound is not acting correctly also are you sure problem is not in Audio on the TV? Go to menu on TV and Look at Audio to see if it is OK.

Sounds like a shorted regulator on the power supply or rectorfiers.

Check the fuse at F851 if open replace with 3.15 or 4 amp slow blow.

It sounds like you are in Closed Caption Text Mode. You should be able to get into the main menue with the Toshiba remote, get to the close caption Icon and turn off Close Caption. This should take care of it.

cant understand what you going on about

could try a sheet of perspex cos this is all it is at the end of the day .the first screen is magnified .

it could be high voltage cap located by flyback,if you have back off of tv and turn tv on,you will see green led's turn on,(on the board)if they turn off there is a small blue high voltage cap hidden under glue(i believe it's a 102 cap)that would be the one change,99% of time that is what will fix problem

you have a problem in the deflection circuitry, thats why youre not getting any picture. Probalya blown line coil or transistor due to the surge. You may want to invest in aservice manual for your set If you have soldering skills you shouldbe able to track down the prblem and repair this set.
