Hi,Yes your problem sounds like the DMD board.This is how it works: http://electronics.howstuffworks.com/dlp1.htm Basically the light of the lamp goes through a tunnel that carries a color wheel(rotating disc with a gamma of colors that creates the colors on your tv)then the light of the lamp goes through the DMD board which is a chip composed of around 2 million pixels that creates the images and colors.When it starts to fail it will create black bars,pixelation,color distortion or white dots on screens. These sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the picture to look normal. When its out of alignment the video will look 3-D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired.

try a different socket, or if the socket has a reset button, press it. occasionally sockets go bad, lose charge, or just need to be reset.

Yes you can play games on this tv. However if you wish a longer life fom your screen do not use the game mode. It sets high brightness, color and contrast values and may reduce the life of the screen.

What help do you need? work too much with Calculus and you will be confused lets go sympyoms and repairs. Rate of change of x wrt y can be fun.Also its better to use equation editor when you are working maths in school college or tvs.

the convergence chip has failed. Usually around $100 to get it fixed. Not for the DIY'er.

Hi,this will never works if your remote is not programmed for your tv set, if the original remote is not works you can fixed by cleaning it
any thoshiba remote will works its all the same frequency

lets start with the easiest first.does your tv in the menu option offer an input output source like 720p or 480p?on my set i can change to any format.maybe yours does too.let me know and we go from there.

If it is a minor misalignment it can be corrected from the user menu or the service menu. If it is a major misalignment because of faulty components, typically it will cost at least $300. Don't be surprised if you get a quote of $600 or more.
If you are handy and can solder, you can do it yourself for about $50.

1 - The Unit needs 2 ( STK-392-110 or Higher Voltage STK-392-160)
2- Also check the Resistors or Pico Fuses around the STK.

I don't know your model, therefore I will tell you genericaly what the problem may be.

There are many things that can cause this type of fault. The response of the video amplifier stages would have to be checked right up through to the output that drives the projection. it is also possible that there is a fault with the colour demodulator. If the set uses projection tubes it is possible that the tubes are weak, or there is dirt in the optics. Colour demodulation problems can also cause the colours to not be correct. Many models using tubes have an optical transparent cooling fluid in front of the tubes. This fluid may have to be changed.

Thanks for using FixYa. From what you have described it seems that you have to replace the convergence IC and check power resistor for leakage, if values are not exact you have to replace them. The typical cost to get this fixed by a pro is about $300 - and it doesn't mean that he/they will do a job better than you do. The parts are less than $100 (about $20-$30 for the IC's) if you want to do it yourself. Replacing only the IC's MAY solve the problem; however, many people have also had blown resistors requiring replacement. Why would you ask should you replace both of the IC's if only one is shot?! If one is shot the other one is not far away and for that little price of the chips it worth changing them both at the same time. Also the convergence board should be checked for cracked solder. If you replace the ICs and the resistors are shot, the ICs may blow again almost immediately, meaning you may have to do the repair twice. If you have already tried replacing these ICs and resistors then replacing the board completely will be a good option. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

He turned on the Closed Caption Text Mode. Just go into your menu to the closed caption section and turn it back off. It might be under the audio section also.
