Not being able to update any apps simply means either you don't have access to the internet or that your apps update is programmed to function ONLY when you are connected to/through WiFi. second, you can download standalone 'raw' apk files online and install on your tab. Try holding the on/off buttom and the volume buttom down at the same time til you get a reading across the screen promote you what to do next. This should reset everything and let you back in. ( make sure you hold both the up and down at the same time on the volume) good luck and i hope this works just about all eletrice have a soft and a hard reset.

When you press and hold in the power button it should boot up. If it doesn't the battery might be dead so charge it up and try again. If it doesn't boot up after charging we need more information. Are you getting any kind of a screen or just nothing?

Sorry, I have no solution to offer. I am in the same situation and resets aren't working. Wondering if OS is deleted and if so, how to reinstall. So frustrating!

I have had the same issue with this tablet. After weeks of looking around on the net i have found a way to reset the tablet to factory settings when the power and vol down button will not work. 1. Download the firmware from the proscan website. http://www.proscanvideo.com/item.asp?itemnmbr=PLT8235G. 2. unzip the file and copy the files update.zip recovery.img and factory_update_param.aml to an external micro sd card. 3. Plug the tablet in and insert the sd card. Press the power button to see the battery icon then press the power button 5 times. Then let it run for 4 minutes and it should be set back to factory settings. ****NOTE***** If it fails to update then you still have the access to the recovery menu where you can do the factory wipe and still reset it. Hope this helps.

my proscan 9 inch android 4.4 will not allow adobe flash player i need flash 11, says my device does not support this. is there any way around this, or should i be returning it.

Just download a correct app from android, or download on your computer and than copy the show to your tablet. Perhaps you should pay a fee, in the place you live. Did you try Google TV? (not for free)

At start up, press the power button and the volume UP button at the same time, then release at the same time. The recovery menu should appear when you release the buttons. Sometimes it can be a little finicky. Try to make sure you're pressing the buttons exactly at the same time. I think it can work as well if you press the volume UP button first, and then the power button immediately after, holding both down at the same time, then releasing. From the recovery menu you can restore the tablet to new, then reset a new password. You will have to reload all your apps and all existing data will be erased. I hope this hleps. j
