hi there, a blackberry hard reset can be done in two ways 1. go to settings > security options > general settings. in there you will find things that will enable phone lock etc press the blackberry home key you will then see a list of options one will say wipe handheld select that one and the rest is easy. 2. you can also reset blackberry when it is locked just enter the wrong password all the time, the phone will ask you to type blackberry to continue a couple of times on the 10th try when you type it wrong it will say enter blackberry to continue when you type this it will reset and will be as if it were just out the box. NB. if you get errors like jvm 503 or others hust launch bb desktop manager and plug in your phone and it will say you have software error check for update it will download and install the latest version of bb os for your phone.

Dear Ella, Unfortunately you will have to get the BB wiped off by entering the wrong password 10 times. Then it will ask you to enter the word "blackberry" and it will restore the device to factory settings wherein you will lose all your messages and contacts. Assuming you've a backup of your data you can restore it to the phone thru Desktop software or incase you do not have a backup I would advise you to kindly keep backing up your phone in future to avoid such data loss. Your APN is specific to your carrier but the APN number is in your settings... Perform one of the following (depending on your device software version):

1. For BlackBerry OS 4.0 or older select TCP / IP.

you need to phone your provider and ask them for the "setup pack " number usually you phone a number and the server will send your phone a settings pack this will setup email and 3/4G for you try that
