The set is detecting moisture inside the set somewhere--either put it somewhere dry or I have taken some apart and dry with a hair dryer---it could also be nothing as I have seen a few where the dew sensor was at fault.

But u still have and pay for the basic cable service wright?Yes,just used the tv remote and push the remote menu button than go into the tv menu,go into Setup enter and go down and pick CABLE not AIR.Enter for the tv do scanning for cables channels.After finish scanning u will get all the basic cable channels.

This TV is an older model with an NTSC tuner (OTA and CATV (analog). You will need a set top box with the digital cable system.

The law didn't require ATSC tuners in 13" TVs until 2007 and the TV was listed at Amazon in 2002. The law requiring the digital transition didn't pass until 2006.

$20 for a NEW remote is fair. There are some cheaper universal remotes from the big box stores but you then have to program it. Some of these universal remotes are tricky with combo units. A new remote would be ready to go out of the box.
Most of Toshiba's products have a manual online than can be viewed, downloaded, or printed off.

hold down vol down on the remote and push 1 on the universal remote. this should turn your tv off and reset it to factory defaults alowing acess to all cable channels

Hello, you can go to the toshiba web site and download the manual from there.
The other option is to go into the TV menu, and select the timer rec set selection and access it there and fill in the times for the program you want to recording and that should do it.
