Transfer recording from tape recorder to computer

Use a cable running from the headphone jack on the recorder into your PC microphone jack. Then you can capture the audio using Windows MovieMaker software that comes with Windows XP. I have done this and it worked perfectly.

I have a number of files on my digital recorder where I have recorded interviews. When I press play, it shows up the length of each interview and the countdown starts, but there is no sound, just a qu

Did any of the files ever playback with sound? You can record sounds, but that doesn't mean the recorder is picking them up. A bad connection, level control setting could be wrong. Try to do another short recording. If you are using a microphone pull the jack out during recording and put it back in again. Then listen to the recording. If there is sound when the microphone is in and it goes when it is out, then there is a possibility that somehow you recorded the other stuff with no connection and that's why there is no sound. If there is no sound on the new recording at all, then you might have a faulty playback amplifier inside the device.

Sony IC Recorder ICD B600

To transfer recordings from the Sony ICD-B600 to Windows first buy a Radio Shack #42-2497 cable. Connect the cable from the recorder headphone jack to the computer microphone jack. In Windows XP follow the path: start, All Programs, Accessories, Entertainment, Sound Recorder. This small window will allow you to record 60 seconds of sound to a file. Get Article #82215 from the Microsoft web site. It will tell you how to make extended recordings. I was able to record 45 minutes continuously. The recorder is turned on by moving the 'HOLD' switch down. The recorder is turned off by moving the 'HOLD' switch up and waiting 2.5 seconds. Have fun.

I have a sony icd bx800 I have recordings I need

Nothing to worry about.
Your recorder has what is called a "Flash Memory" 2 GB I believe, which will retain whatever you recorded pretty much indefinitely.

I recorded meeting minutes to

Hello,

yes, it is possible. You will connect the earphone jack from your voice recorder to Mic of your laptop. Then you will be needing a wave software on your laptop, download the wave software from the internet, open the wave file, then press play on your voice recorder and the minutes will be recorded into your laptop as a wave files.

But the easiest method of tranferring the minutes is by using the usb cable of your OLYMPUS VN-480 PC voice recorder. If you don't have it you can purchase it, then connect it from your OLYMPUS VN-480 PC voice recorder to the usb of your computer and it will be read like a flash drive.

After that, go to my computer and you will see a drive representing the OLYMPUS VN-480 PC voice recorder, open the drive and you will see your minutes, then simply create a folder on your computer, and copy, paste the minutes into the created folder. And the would be all.

God luck.

It dies really fast

It just shuts itself off, is that correct? ANd you have tried multiple batteries? If so then the actual unit itself is having issues. How long have you owned this unit? It may still be under warranty.
Let me know and I will continue to help.
Thanks Tim
