To advance the slides forward just tap the advance button. To revers it hold the advance button down. If that doesn't do it it will need service.

Hi- I'm not at all familiar with this model so won't suggest a particular fix. However, in general, you may find some gear or other mechanical linkage, or perhaps a spring holding a gear in place has slipped. That caused the same symptm in some old Kodaks I know of. If you cannot figure it out AND you don't mind not having autofocus, you could disable AF. Inside you will find some sort of small light bulb. Disconnecting one lead will turn off that light and prevent AF from doing anything. If you end up taking that route, make sure you load all your slides in with the emulsion facing the same way (that's the less shiny side of the slide). This will reduce the amount of focus difference between slides.

My guess is the sleeve bearings in the fan motor need oil. I use teflon based oil.
