Dualit (7202) Cordless Electric Kettle - Page 4 Questions & Answers
How can i test the elements on my dualit 2slice combi toaster
You can do a visual by looking at them to see if there is a break in it. If they don't get red hot then they may be starting to go. But that usually is not the case because of the properties of the wire. It will suddenly stop working when the wire breaks. These usually are pretty reliable.
Electrical plug is broken
Electrical plug that is broken can be fixed however it is no longer safe to use..Electrical current may leak while holding the plug that might cause electrical shock.It is better to replace it with a new one.If the plug can be remove using a screw or if it just fixed using a bolt then you can just buy a new socket or plug.That helps you lessen your expenses.Hope this helps..
We have a 4-slice 4BR/30.
What the flash was is the heating element on that side has broke and is now touching the frame of the toaster. You can not get parts for the toaster. I recommend replacing the toaster.
The timer keeps stopping when
Yes the part is availible on ebay you need a new timer. Just be sure to get the right one there are 2 types available. The timer is not cheap and it will have to come from England. But it is an easy fix and the new timer seem to be better made then OEM
I have a dualit toaster
Sorry it is too long to bring it in for warranty service but it has value as parts on ebay sell it and buy a refurb at william sonoma
When I turn on my
Hi there
The following might be the cause;
Thermal Resistor;The first potential area of trouble could be that the toaster has a defective thermal resistor. thermal resistors control the heater in the unit. If the thermal resistor is defective, it will not turn off the heating components in the toaster, which will cause the toaster to continually heat up. As it keeps heating, it keeps drawing power, which will trip the breaker.
Remove the toaster connections to it and test its conductivity with an Ohmeter. If there is no reading, the resistor is defective and needs replacement.
Faulty Circuit Breakers;
If the toaster is tripping the circuit breaker, it's possible that the circuit breaker itself is malfunctioning. Circuit breakers trip as a safety precaution to prevent an electrical circuit from overloading or shorting. If an electrical circuit was to overload or short, it could lead to a physical damage even electrical fire. If a circuit breaker is not working, it can repeatedly trip because it is not able to handle normal electrical draw. Circuit breaker replacement is not difficult and household circuit breakers can be found in local hardware stores. However, due to the electrical danger involved, contact an electrician to fix it.
Loose Electrical Connections
There could be a loose connection in the outlet. A loose connection in the outlet could consist of wiring that is not functioning and is unable to properly manage current. The current needed by the toaster is being mishandled by the loosely connected outlet and drawing more power from the electrical system, tripping the circuit breaker. Once again, an outlet can be replaced with hardware store parts but an electrician is best suitable to fix it, due to the dangers of electricity.
Broken timer
The timer is also an electrical power switch and it can not be fixed. In any case and for safety reasons also you need to replace it.
It can be easily removed by removing the bottom panel and remember to make some notes on where each wire is connected so you will put them back in the same order with the new timer switch.
Good Luck
Our 4-slice toaster (model 4cbc) is only toasting
Inside your toaster there are eight heating element plates six in the center and one in left end and one in right end.
Just switch on the toaster without any bread at maximum time and visualy inspect to see which side is becoming red and which not. Then you need to replace the element plates you see that they don't become red.
Remember that the two in center are the same called "CENTER" and the other two on ends are the same called "END"
They can easily be removed if you remove the bottom panel.
Good Luck
Is not hot
This a good indication that your elements have gone bad. Having it plugged in could cause a electrical fire. Unplug the unit. How old is it. With what a toaster cost if not under warranty get another one and trash this one. It's not worth trying to fix unless under warranty. Hope this helps. Let me know what happens and if I can help you with anything else.
