No sound output

Hello,

before it started working only via external amp, was your amp working? If your amp was working, then it means it is faulty for real. A fuse or something might have gone bad inside the amp.

The head unit speaker won't work if the RCA's are unplugged. But it will work if its connected to the external amp.

You can go ahead with your connections to the external amp. Your amp is faulty.

Good luck.

CANT SEEM TO SAVE MY RADIO STATIONS EVRY TIME I

there is a memory power lead (usually yellow) that must be hooked up to constant power. find a circuit in the car that doesn't cut off with the switch and hook the memory power lead to that. if the memory lead is properly attached, and has power even with the switch off, then the problem is internal to the radio and will have to be repaired. be aware, there is usually a fuse in the power lead to the memory, check the fuse also.

Haveing trouble hearing sound when I have my IPod connected

You need a AI Net cable or Speed Cable... It plugs into the back of the radio (looks like a circle with holes), and the other end can have a "Y" plug (headphone jack and iPod flat jack). The headphone jack for sound, the flat jack to charge he iPod while listening. I just bought mine on Crutchfield.com for $29.99. With the discount code: 3A156 you can get standard shipping free. The item # is: 127ICALPA and it's named "PAC iPod Adapter for Alpine".

Display malfunctions/no working functions

Remote turn on lead shorted to audio intterupt lead? I would just hook up power and ground to the 9833 and see if problem goes away. If not is must be internal to the 9833. If problem goes away i would double check wiring. Good luck that is a sweet cd player.

New car, no manual

There is no straigt forward bass and treble adjustment. You must adjust in either the (x-over) or (users EQ) function. It is a bit tedious but performs the bass and treble adjustments at multiple frequencies.
