My garage door won't go down and keeps blinking 10 times.
first, hold the wall button down and do not let up and the door will close for you. second, one of the wires to your sensors is loose, broken or shorted out by a staple thru the insulation. you can bypass the sensors on a temporary basis while you find the issue, by jumping the sensor connections at the motor.

How much is gear kit for 1/2 #41A2817?
Gear kits can be purchased for chain drive machines from any of these 3 brand names ...Liftmaster/sears craftsman /chamberlain / All 3 of these brand names are manufactured by Liftmaster the worlds largest maker of garage door openers and related parts ! You can purchase a gear kit on ebay for around $30 or less depending on the seller ! If you go to garage door parts sites it will be slightly higher so your best bet is EBAY , The gear kit only requires the main gear and sprocket housing that attaches with 3 screws , just remember after the gear is installed that you run the motor co that the trolley starts in the door down position otherwise you risk having the trolley smack into the opener , this is crucial for any travel adjustments that are made later! Hope this helps you ,sincerely Glenn

Why won't lift master garagedoor opener work in cold weather
colder weather solidifies the grease to add extra friction on the moving door in the track. Increase the downward close pressure. Its a screw on the motor box. There are 2 sets of screws one for open and close pressure the other set for close and open distance

Garage door won't close
Verify you have power at the opener. If the lights flash upon close - you are good. Next, make sure the photoeyes are aligned properly. the master photoeye will always have power. The second will light up when it sees the master unit. If they are aligned, replace them (they do fail). You can also temproarily jumper the wires at the opener to see if the door operates. This will confirm a bad sensor.

Liftmaster GDO goes up 1/2 way and stops, springs are fine.
The Liftmaster openers have 4 movement switches, a )opening and b) closing limit and c) opening and d) closing force. First check the door for smooth operation by opening the door by hand (disconnect from the opener with the release cord). Any binding should be felt this way. It is possible for a binding hinge, roller or torsion springs to add too much drag and cause the force switch to shut off the motor. Hinges, roller shafts and torsion springs should be lubricated at least annually with a non oily spray (silicone or teflon spray). Not WD-40 or 3-in-1! A light band of lube should be applied to the torsion spring coils. If the door can be operated smoothly by hand, then adjust the closing force switch 1/4 turn at a time. This is a safety device do not use it to overcome another problem!

Chamberlain troubleshooting
The problem is with the infrared sensor cameras! You must check to see that both cameras have their led lights lit, if not you can position the one that does not have its light on which is called the receiver , The receiver receives a signal from the sending infrared camera and if it is not positioned correctly it will not receive a signal forcing you to hold down the wall station button . The reason for this is a built in security feature letting you know the sensors are not aimed at each other properly ,once you have an indicator light on both sides your opener should work fine and you wont have to stand their holding the button until the door closes ...Hope this helps you , good luck Glenn
