Download photos from the camera's card to my pc

To quote Kakima, from 2010 : The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries. Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.

Camera turns "on", can read menus, etc, but, there is no image on LCD screen?

On page 8 of the basic operate manual you see the backside of the camera and there you find the display button. Try pressing that one several times, while in recording mode. af72a541-f880-4b00-afde-7afeb88d01a4.png

Pictures are overexposed when taken in sunlight,

Not knowing the settings being used or you're experience, makes it kind of difficult. But, I would check where the sun is positioned when you take your next photos. If you are shooting into the sun the background can be completely blown out. Try keeping the sun to your back and see if that helps.

SD/SDHC cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

I have a Panasonic Lumix dmc-zs6 camera. Is there a setting that will allow the date to be automatically imprinted on all my photos when they are printed either professionally or on my printer at hom

No, but the date and time (and a lot more) are stored with every picture in its EXIF metadata. Any photo viewing/editing program should be able to display this data. To print this data, please consult the documentation for whatever program you're using to print your pictures. Depending on the program and printer you may print the date on the image, in the margins, or on the back.
