How do I adjust the

Hi, if you really want to try it (and are prepared to have to take it in to have it properly readjusted), you'll take out the bobbin case, find the tension screw (it's usually on the end of a leaf-type spring) and tighten or loosen the screw. This is normally done in 1/8th turn increments or less. Be extremely careful in loosening the tension-- the little screw has a habit of jumping out of the case and promptly disappearing forever.

I am having trouble with

Hi shari... I wish I had a nickel for every client who is wrestling with this sewing machine tension issue. If you feel that the tension is set as well as possible then you will have to change the needle and or the thread in order to eliminate the current problem. I would go to a slightly thicker thread and see if that solves it. If it makes it better but not perfect then adjust the tension again. Joe

Thanks for choosing Fixya!

Skips stiches

This is normally a needle related problem, change the needle for the type of fabric to be sewn. If it is a stretchy fabric, get a "stretch" needle.
Good Luck
