Hi carlos,

Im assuming the disc youve been trying to use is new. Most people who have that kind of problem may find that the lens need special cleaning by a trained technician who may have to open up the set. For another quick fix, try another dvd cleaner (trust me, the expensive ones are usually better), and also wipe the dvd from the interior to the exterior!

There is a way to unlock your Apex TV. This method will work in most of Apex models. Try this.

Apex TVs use a four digit code to control the v-chip. The override code for many models is 6688. Other sets may not have one, or may have a default code of 1225 instead of an override code.

1. To use the override code:
2. Hit the MENU key to get to the menus.
3. Go down to the SYSTEM menu and hit the right arrow on the remote control.
4. Once in the SYSTEM menu, go to PARENTAL GUIDE. It will ask for your code.
5. Enter the override code listed above. From here, you can turn on and off different rating restrictions, as well as set a new code.

No matter what the V-chip code is set to, the override code will still work. If you have a blank screen with a red key on the bottom left, simply press the (function or F) button and the mute button at the same time. This will unlock the screen and allow you to view the channel as desired

hi there! there maybe insufficient height on your screen. this will help to locate the problem:
1. Look for by-pass capacitor at the horizontal section of your tv there is possible leak, and try to replace it with the same value by desoldering the defective parts.
2, there maybe an open or leak screen capacitor in the output stage
3. Or an open leak coupling capacitor. thank you.

There are two codes for different modes of Apex digital TV try the first one if don't work go for the second one. 6688 , 1225.

According to apex its not and does not have a digital tuner the only way this can be high def would be 720P meaning 720 lines progressive scan.

Your aspec Ratio is 4:3 this indeed is a standard TV without a digital tuner so you will need a digital setop box or a digital tuner.

High DEF is not considered digital its conidered how many lines are displayed on the TV. For example 720p, 1080p .

You probably have the parental lock on,
Here`s the procedure and factory default code to unlock it:

Pass Code Menu
This menu allows you to change the access code for the Parental Guide
functions of the TV set. Pressing the .Menu. key when Pass Code
Control is highlighted. This will turn on or off the Pass Code function. With
the Pass Code function ON, you can also change the Pass Code. Use
the down arrow key to highlight .Pass Code,. then enter the new Pass
Code using the numeric keypad. Press the left arrow key when finished.
1. The factory default pass code of 6688 is also the override code, in case you forget your new pass code.

Cablebox? If so, you can try changing the digital output type for the HDMI connection. Most common and reliable format is L-PCM or PCM. If you provide your cablebox model and cable service, you can be better assisted.

Try website 1-800-Remotes Factory Original.To buy a original or caompatabile remotes .Well not find the universal codes if ur user manual came with it.Those manual codes didn't work.

On the original tv remote hold down the "F" (Function) key and press MUTE at the same time. This will unlock the TV.
