Toner leaks from cartridge while in machine.
Tech re-furbished the drum and the problem went away. Apparently, not all drums you buy are the same quality. Some completely replace the drum material, while others simply clean the surface which is not the correct process. I guess you get what you pay for.

Locked up AL-1642CS with blinking Drum Light
Older Sharp AL copiers will go on working with the drum light blinking, but yours will not. Newer models do stop working when the drum reaches its limit. Now keep in mind that just as almost every copier in the market, these units count the copies they make in order to determine toner & drum life. So it is possible to reset the drum counter if you inspect the unit and see no markings or visible wear & tear. Also keep in mind that the toner & drum units have been the same for all AL units through time, so there are plenty of good replacements in the market (not recycled, but re-manufactured or brand-new compatibles).
As for your unit, if the drum is Sharp original or a good quality replacement, you should have to do nothing after installation, for the internal chip in the drum will tell the copier to reset the counter and begin working automatically. However if that is not the case, or should you want to reset the counter on your existing drum, this is the correct sequence to do so.
- Identify the buttons used for adjusting exposure (darker or lighter copies), amount of copies, clear copies and start copying.
- Now press the following sequence of buttons: [CLR], [EXPOSURE], [CLR], [EXPOSURE]
- Your unit should turn off the numbers in the panel.
- Now press 24 as if asking for 24 copies and press [START].
- Press 07 as if asking for 7 copies and press [START].
- Your unit should restart by itself and start working normally.
Be blessed.
Sharp AR-287 error code HR-00
The AR 287 does not have any codes that begin with "HR". Please recheck the display and post again with correct code and I will try and help you.
Status light still on!
Go into your User tools / customer tools, machine ( management) and look for the calibrate / or replace. Select the proper color and follow. If you had a Tech replace you may need them to go into the Tech mode and reset the code. If you paid to have them come out to replace, this should be covered in the cost.

2 lines down the right side of paper - sharp 1641 CS copier
Your problem is most likely not the drum.
Can you make a copy on the glass itself and the lines DO not appear?
if yes this confirms it is not from the drum. Open the top and look at the Small strip of glass : is it dirty or have two dots, white out or Anything on there???? clean w/ alcohol. Any dots will look like lines when making a copy because the paper is moving on the glass.
If the lines are still coming out even on the glass then take a look at the Fuser (exit where it gets hot) are the rollers smooth and uniform or are they scratched???
Right side of paper is faded
remove the cartridge out, you can see a piece glass on the bottom inside the machine. clean up by acohol both side.
Double left line down the side of paper
Sounds like the drum surface has been damaged by some foreign object.
Typically when you get imaging errors such as lines from top to bottom of a page there is a permanent scratch on the drum surface. Pull the drum unit out of the printer/copier and carefully examine the drum surface, you most likely will see the damage quite easily. The only repair is to replace the drum unit with a new one. HOWEVER... be sure to clean the inside of the machine with a toner vacuum to remove any dirt, debris or paperclips, staples, etc that might have accidentally been introduced into the unit.
Hope this helps you out.
Cheers,
Keith
