Sharp ux b700 will not print
it sounds like either you didn't peel off the plastic cover the ink cartridge or it is a defective cartridge.
Thank You,

there should be two to three, one in the feed area, one in the middle, and one close to the exit. I don't klnow which kind your particular model uses but i'll describe both, also you may not always be able to see them because sometimes they are located under or near a guide plate. 1) electromagnetic/photo interupt sensors are always mechanical in nature they use a tiny magnet/photo sensor that sits on an arm that when the paper goes through it pushes the arm up/down causing the magnet to move near or away from the read switch, the are usually black in color, about 1/2 in wide with the arm 1/16 in with and you will be able to lightly push them up or down if you can see them. the other kind is a photo sensor which is even smaller 1/2 in X 14 in and it shoots a beam up onto a black felt patch(these are usually used under guide plates) where if the black felt is blocked or dirty it will cause this simptom. another thing you can try is to try using a very thin credit card to see if a sensor is blocked by carefully inserting it in where the paper goes in or come out but be ver carefull not to damage anything. I hope this will help you. Good Luck

Mikey

Paper not feeding properly
1. Clean the rolllers first.
2, Then on the upper half of the scanner, look for a pad with small leaf springs on it. That pad can be worn or one of the springs bent down. Look into there with a flashlight and see what is dragging on the paper.
Look carefully on the top and bottom half of the scanner, you have some type of partial obstruction.
Sharp Fax machine - UX-B700
Try this:
Set the fax machine to AUTO reception. Next, you
would want to set the proper settings in your Option Set List. To print
a list press the FUNCTION key, the number 2 key, then press the # key
until it reads OPTION SET LIST in the LCD screen and press the START
key. This will print your list. The following settings should be seen:
Number of Rings 1 to 4 rings (setting #2) Dial Mode- TONE (setting #8)
TAD Connected- OFF (setting #9) * Quiet Detect Time- 04 seconds
(setting #10) * Distinctive Ringing- OFF (setting #12) **
Let us know if this doesn''t fix it... we can go from there!

Sharp UXB700 fax machine
Sounds like a job that sent which requires differnt size paper or just froze up the machine.
What you will most likely have to do is, search your menus and setups, and find memory clear. And run a memory clear process.
There some corruption in the fax machines software that needs reset, That will do it.
You will have to then reset date and time, etc. But that should do it.

wipe off the contacts on back ink cartridge with a microfiber towel moistened with alcohol also wipe of the printhead (area where ink cartridge contacts the paper) then reinstall and try printing.
Unable to receive faxes

Printing problem
Are the problem prints all from the same source? If so the problem could be on the transmission end. Can you connect to your fax and print to it from a local workstation? If so print several images with dark solid patterns and see if it is actually the printhead. Try printing in cyan, magenta, yellow, and black colors to to rule out each individual printhead.
Check Cartridge message
This could be a problem with the ink build up in the waste resevoir. Take out the cartridge and using a flashlight look and see if there is a build up of ink near the waste tank area. This is a spunge that captures the ink that it doesn't use. There is a sensor that gets blocked.
