For me, it works when I switch the second switch on the top from right to left ( Arrow up5/4 arrow down. I write the word arrow, because I do not know how to type an arrow, but in the calculator is an actual arrow on the switch. I hope this helps.

1. Switch the GT*RATE SET button to RATE SET.
2. Press the date/clock button to display current time.
3. Enter time wanted using military time. 4:52 p.m would be entered as 16.52 (Note the 16 is followed by . then enter the 52. (ie. 10:45 a.m. would be entered as 10.45)
4. Press the date/clock button again to enter new time.

Just reset mine and is current. If the built in battery needs changed, access panel is on the back. It uses a watch type battery.

The manual mentions an add mode, turning the calculator into an adding machine. If this is the case, you can do this test and see if it works to confirm that it is acting like an adding machine. 4+ 3- 5+ * Think of these as integers. The 4 is positive, the 3 is negative, the 5 is positive. When we add all these integers together, we get positive 6. Good luck. Let me know if you have any questions. Paul

there is an error.somebody w/knowledge has to open yhe machine. probably the printer is stuck.or there is something broken into this machine

probably there is paper underneath the printer..if you are handy you have to open the printer underneath to take stuck paper out. or take apiece of clear place ,that can enter where you pass the paper.and let the plastic come the other side out. probably it willcome with anything that is stuck beneath the printer M.P

The only thing I can think of is the ribbon is not threaded properly. (ex. in front of carrier instead of behind or vice versa)
