It may have to do with the Magic focus if that model has it: auto convergence and if fails a indication can appear on screen. The Magic focus if in play would be a flashing sequence moving to different areas of the screen in sequence.

A total dead set is usually not a major problem.with set unplugged and rear cover removed follow the power cord to a plug in fuse in a holder. Total dead usually means the problem right where the power cord connects to the power supply---this model has some black relays (up to three) that can stick open or closed.Only simple things are the fuse and the relays---other than that it must be trouble shot to locate problem.The strand in the fuse will if bad itself either be broken or blackened.If fuse good you can tap on the relays while trying to turn set on---use wood handle and do not touch anything else in set at same time.RELAYThe fuse will have amperage marked on the metal ends and usually on the board where it plugs in. If bad do not replace with generic radio shack etc type fuse---most of these will be 3 to 5 amps rated.Don't forget to examine the power cord to be sure not broken at either end also.

You can do that but an easier way is to remove rear cover (set unplugged)and clean the lens with a lens cloth or paper towel with glass cleaner sprayed on it.

It is fairly easy to damage screen when removing it/replacing it.

Hope this helps others who have had the same problem. Mine did not even come with these codes!!!

You need a convergence kit. Search Goo*le and tvrepairkits.com will have a kit make for your specific tv.

Replace with the kit and your colors will be better than ever!

cannot repair. it is a cosmetic blemish. you can replace front panel but is usually not economical to repair.

yes if you have a blue vga input on your tv. or if you have an hdmi output on your computer. also please eleborate if you wanna run this as duel screen or not if so i can give you step by step directions on how to get this to work

Is the part number on your remote HL02071 as this is the replacement part form Hitachi for your television. You may have to reinstall the codes on this remote you will have to get the codes from Hitachi they have a 24/7 support hot-line 1-800-448-2244 that you can call in order to take care of this problem that you are having. If you did not purchase the remote from Hitachi it may not be a genuine remote with the proper code already in it.

If your TV looks 3D, warped, or distorted it likely has a convergenge problem.
If however it just looks dull, washed out, redish, greenish, or blueish or if it looks like objects on the screen have halos the fluid in the lens has soured.
You can search google for parts or you can get the parts with repair instructions from sites such as www.TvRepairKits.com
