Canon F-502 statistycal scientific calculator
As I added on to the previous solution on the other problem.
"Okay, I did what the best solution did and worked with it.
"1. press 2nd F (left top corner)
2. ENG/FIX (the button next to 2nd F)
3. press 0 (if you don't want calculator to round off any decimals)"
In order to get your exact value of pi, in step #3, instead of 0, press the decimal [ . ]
This should give you no decimals when entering a number and give you 3.141592654... when you input pi.
Hope that works/helps."
How do i get a negative exponent?
I don't have this calculator, but let's give this a shot and see if it gives us the correct answer.
Let's try 10 to the exponent -2. The rule for negative exponents is to put 1 on the top and the term with a positive exponent on the bottom. In this case, it would be 1 on the top and 10 to the exponent 2 on the bottom, or 1 / 100 or 0.01.
In the calculator, enter 10, hit the x to the power of y key, left bracket (, the negative key (-), 2, the right bracket ), and finally the = key. You might not have to enter the left and right brackets, but I like to enter them to understand what I enter in brackets is the exponent.
Let me know if it works and if you have any other questions.
Good luck.
Paul
Where is mod on calculator
Sorry to disappoint you but this calculator does not perform modulo calculations. However you can use the fraction key [a b/c] to enter the numerator and denominator. If the result is given as an improper fraction
a b/c, then
a mod c=b.
If the result is given as an improper fraction (that would be you input) press [SHIFT][a b/c] to convert it.
On the display integer part, the numerator of the fraction part and its denominator are separated by a symbol as seen on the screen capture below.
How do i use bedmas
BEDMAS is a mnemonic device used to help you remember the order of operations in the evaluation of mathematical expressions.
B stands for Brackets OR Parentheses.
E stands for Exponent(iation)
D: division
M: multiplication
A: addition
S subtraction
I will amend the device to introduce the ROOTS, and to separate the levels of priority by --
B--ER--DM--AS
That means that raising to a power E and extracting a root R have the same priority. When these operations follow one another the order is from left to right.
Division and Multiplication have the same priority levels. When they follow one another, the order is from left to right.
How to use : RECURRENTLY
Look at the expression and locate the brackets (parentheses).
If there are many sets of parentheses start at the left and take care of the leftmost set. When inside the leftmost set of parentheses use B-ER-DM-AS again, and again until there is only one term left.
If there are embedded parentheses start from the deepest.
Let us simplify a bit.
Inside first set of bracket
Are there brackets: No
Are there Powers or Roots: yes. take care of powers and roots starting from the left until there are no more powers or roots
Are there multiplications or divisions? Yes. take care of multiplications and divisions starting from the left until there are no more divisions or multiplications.
Decimal to fraction
Look for a key that is marked [a b/c]. If that key exists on your calculator (I cannot find a specific manual) its second function is marked as [b/c] or [d/c]. To enter a mixed number you enter the integer, press [at b/c], enter the numerator of the fraction part, press [a b/c], then enter the denominator followed by the [=] sign.To convert from decimal to fraction and back, you press the fraction key or its shifted key.
How to put .00
To get two digits after the radix mark, press 2ndF FIX 2.
