you can solve the problem by opening the back cover of the television to check for blown fuses at the power stage of the printed circuit board, if found , replaced with the same current rating but if otherwise Ur power supply board is dead ,tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole refurbish power supply board for the replacement.

From your description, it sould like your back light might be starting to fail. Is it VERY darker or just a little? You might look for signs of it being not bright uniformly or giving a slight flicker interittently. If so, the backlight is the issue. This light is a flourescent light that sits right behind the LCD array shining through it to you to see. Some of hte Aquos models are replaceable by the end user, where others are a unit which includes the balast (high voltage circuit). Because it is a 37 inch unit, I expect it comes as a module set. The price on these can be a little high, but not to the point of buying a new TV. You might be looking around 200.00 roughly plus labor to put the thing inside... that will depend on the skill of the installer :-) I am not sure if hte parts are available to the public for this from Sharp, but I would definitely let a pro install it for you since it requires taking off the LCD array, and you do NOT want to mess with that fragile item yourself. Most of those models you replaced them through the front. The lower front panel pulls off. Some models have a knob that must be loosen on the back of the set at each end. Once the front panel is taken off the Lamp door is easily accessed. The new Lamp from Sony will come with the proper Wrench to remove and reinstall lamp.

Look for any capacitors that my be puffed up or leaking. most of the time just replacing them fixes the problem.

You need to replace the inverter board if you can find the spare part. Otherwise you need to replace the whole lcd panel.

This is the Power Board for it. check those 6 electrolytic Capacitors on the right for bulging or splitting. Don't buy it blindly, it's a guess. It can't be done. The DVD remote will be single frequency for that device only and the LG remote for that LG Blu Ray (or series) only. Companies don't make cross-control between makers easy. The only exception is cable and satellite boxes to allow their remote to also control the television.
