Check all your buttons have retracted all the way out. Sometimes it only takes one stuck (stupid) rubber button to stuff things up :) Check your camera thoroughly even check to see if the card/battery door is fully closed

To reset the camera, remove the battery for 15 mins, Replace the battery then go to the camera's menu and set the Date & Time.

You may have to replace the date/time battery. See the instructions on page 124 of the manual.

you cannot take date and time off before taking photo.

The card may be corrupted and unusable. Try with a new SD Card. If that doesn't work, you need Canon Service. Try formatting it in the computer, add images and see if you can see the images in the camera.

If the batteries are the same age as the camera, they are probably worn out. Try replacing them.
