I recently aquired a used rotel rx102 stereo

If the receiver doesn't have a function specifically named PHONO, yes. Very few AVR's have phono preamps. They're not expensive. I'd check eBay.

My Nakamichi av7 has no output to the speakers. it

This could be a number of things and withouit taking measurements internally, there is no way to be sure. Some possibilities include:
1) defective capacitors in the power supply.
2) shorted outputs
3) Open power transformer (either the standby transformer or main one)

To attempt to narrow down the possibilities, listen carefully when yyou attempt to power it on. Do you hear a click? Are there any lights on the unit at all? If the standby circuit is OK, you should see the standby light on.

Please update this with any additional details you can and we'll continue from there.

Thanks,
Dan

Nakamichi AV 400 will not power up.

its not the fuse problem its the definate problem of ic on the circuit board that has blown out which controls tjhe power on the board to the unit.the number of IC IS -- IC379JC that has to be replaced.also check out the resistor that supplys the power between the capacitor C31011 and IC 379JC.that is resistor number R93 and R94.the cost of the replacing part is not more then $10.but get it replaced and checked fromn a professional repair person in a repair center.it will work after that.
thanks.

Rotel PReamp, Can I directly Connect my powered speakers to the output

Hi,

Based on your post, the pre-amp is doing its job. What might be the mismatch would be the powered speaker system plugged into the output of the Rotel. Depending on what the "powered speaker system" is, it might be that it is a low impedance such as those used in computers whereas the Rotel requires high impedance to be connected to its output. What could be tried is to connect a regular amp or receiver to the Rotel.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

AV-2 surround receiver. No sound

This may sound silly, but make sure that the tape monitor switch is not turned on. If it is not, let me know and we'll look elsewhere.

No sound from my record turntable into my computer.

If you're certain there is no sound going out of the TT...

Setting the Pre-amp Switch
For increased flexibility of use, this turntable has an internal
stereo phono pre-amplifier. The Pre-amp Selector Switch
is located under the turntable platter, in the rear-center
(Fig. 1). If the system amplifier you are using has a PHONO
input, set the Pre-amp Selector Switch to the “OFF”
position. If your amplifier does not have a PHONO input,
set the Pre-amp Selector Switch to the “ON” position and
connect the turntable’s output cables to the AUX or other
high-level input on the amplifier (described later).

Turntable operates, but no sound at all
1. The stylus guard is still in place.
2. The tone arm Lift button is pressed in.
3. Amplifier controls set incorrectly: wrong input selected,
tape monitor on, speakers switched off, etc.
4. Check the stylus on phono cartridge for correct placement.
Refer to the instructions for replacing the stylus
on page 5.
Turntable operates, but no sound, or sound not loud
enough
1. If the turntable is connected to an AUX (high-level)
input: The Pre-amp Selector Switch may be set to the
“OFF” position (phono-input level).
2. The input gain of the amplified speaker or similar
device may be too low.
3. The stylus assembly may not be fully seated in the
cartridge body.

You could also isolate the problem to either the TT or the PC by trying the TT on some other sound device like a receiver. Make sure the PreAmp Selector switch is ON and plug the TT into any AUX, CD or TAPE input.

Nakamichi soundspace 9 is not working, the power is on standby position, but i can not turn it on,the technician said the problem is in the main unit processor, he said it can not be fixed, pls help

The age of this unit and the way it is working lead me to believe the issue is with a component called a capacitor. These components age and fail causing the condition that you are describing. The capacitors are usually in the power supply board and when they fail there is too much ripple current allowed into the main board and the power switch wont latch to turn on the unit. There could also be a bad super capacitor in the main board that functions like a battery and it may have died. Unless you have soldering skills and the right test gear, there is not a lot that you can do yourself.
