My gemini cdmp 6000 cue button is stuck it will not come out of cue. i need to hold cue button down in order for it to play

You need to take it to the shop and get the switch replaced. It shouldn't cost more than an hour's labor/bench charge and the cost of the switch. Depending on your market probably $75-100.

The right CD deck of

Hi mreuten44,

If the unit won't play or read disc, it is often caused by the lens. The easiest way to correct this problem is as simple as the lens may need cleaning. Here are several troubleshooting steps that you can take:

1. Remove excess dust from the CD player. Make sure to dust in between buttons, knobs, power cord(s) and audio-out ports. Note: use a dry duster, as moisture will harm your CD player further.

2. Use a disk-based lens cleaner to remove ground in dust or dirt from the CD player's lens. These lens cleaners look like a regular CDs, but have specially-made bushes on the reverse side that gently remove excess dirt from the CD-reading lens. Simply put the CD in your player, and press the "Play" button to clean the lens. Do not run the cleaner more than once, as excess brushing can cause scratches on the lens.

3. Polish the lens. Use a glass or eyeglass cleaning solution and a lint-free cloth to gently polish the reading lens. Clean it by using a low amount of pressure and softly polishing the lens and its surrounding area using soft, circular motions. Do this for about a minute or two and then allow the player to sit for a few minutes before trying to play a CD.

4. Make sure the slider that the lens is attached to is all the way back to the platter.

5. Check the platter, it may have slipped down to close to the lens and it wont focus.

6. If the above steps did not work, the motor drive circuit is defective. At this point you need a help of a repairman to check the unit.

Hope it helps.

Thank you for using FixYa.

GEMINI CDMP 6000 5 mounth old 10 times used ( home

A call to Gemini is in order here. Given your location, try asking if they will send you a replacement drive. It is common for the drives to contain special uncoding that will prevent a generic replacement drive from working properly. Since this unit is so new, it is likely that the company will replace the drive for you.

One of the first things a technician does with a voltmeter it to check 'all the voltages' in a system are correct.. Even without a specific circuit diagram for the board, 'Applications Notes' for chips and seminconductors will give nominal expected voltages in a working circuit. Remember you can burn out the meter by connecting it to any source of current when on the Ampere or Ohm settings. Technicians usially start at a high (highest) Voltage range setting and work downwards.. Providing the maximum Voltage is not exceeded on any range, whether it is AC or DC will not damage the meter. 'Fluke' by the way are a 'top end' professional product - check the price ;)

No or very little sound from Fender passport

Depending on the model, there are four around that date, it could be the insert jacks are tarnished reducing the signal flow between the pre amp stage and digital power amplifier. It could be the power amplifier has failed. It could even be customer error in wiring. This assumes there is the correct level of signal entering the input sockets of course.

Breaking Roland RD 600 hammers

The Roland RD-600 is a digital piano, and its hammer action mechanism is designed to simulate the feel of an acoustic piano. The hammers in digital pianos like the RD-600 are typically made of materials like plastic or a combination of materials to replicate the weighted feel of acoustic piano keys. The breaking of hammers in a digital piano is not a common issue, and it's not typically related to the age of the instrument alone. Several factors could contribute to the breakage of hammers, and it's essential to consider the following possibilities:
  1. Excessive Force: If the keys are played with excessive force or if there's any physical damage to the instrument, it could lead to the breakage of hammers.
  2. Material Quality: The quality of materials used in the construction of the hammers can impact their durability. If the hammers are made from subpar materials, they may be more prone to breaking.
  3. Manufacturing Defects: In some cases, there could be manufacturing defects that make the hammers more susceptible to breakage.
  4. Maintenance: Lack of proper maintenance, such as cleaning and regular inspection, may contribute to the wear and tear of components, including hammers.
If you've observed a pattern of hammers breaking with regularity, it might be worth investigating the specific cause. If it's due to excessive force or physical damage, adjusting playing habits and taking care during transport can help mitigate the issue. As for whether it's worth purchasing new hammers from Roland, it depends on the extent of the damage and the overall condition of the instrument. If the RD-600 is in good condition otherwise and you enjoy playing it, replacing the hammers could be a reasonable option. However, you may want to assess the cost of replacement hammers compared to the overall value of the instrument, factoring in the cost of a used RD-600 and any potential future maintenance needs.

Looking for age/value of piano. I looked up all the numbers and can't find any matches. Inside the piano is has "A.B. Chase" stamped right in the metal, to the left stamped in black is 103220.

According to the information I found, the serial number 103220 on your piano indicates that it was manufactured between 1910 and 1915

Squeaky bass pedal board Roland PK5

I know this post is super old, but it was one of the first hits I had when searching this problem, so I'll post it here in the hopes that it will help someone. I found that I had to get under the cover, and clean/lube the plastic post on the assembly that pushes the button on the circuit board. It's a plastic post that slides in a plastic slot. I think it just gets contaminated with dust and that is the main cause. Philips screwdriver gets you under the cover and removes the two screws that hold that assembly together. Obviously be really careful to not break the plastic post. Looks like the wrong kind of force would snap it very easily. I used Deoxit Fader Lube, sprayed on a rag, and wiped the surfaces where the plastic parts touch. Put it back together and worked the pedal a few times, no squeak.
