If unt was dropped, look for broken PC board in the vicinity of the rotary encoder. Also look at solder connections to make sure they are sound. A little contact cleaner applied to encoder through an opening so the spray gets inside will help clean contacts. If the knob itself is hard to turn, the shaft is likely bent, and there may be damage to the encoder itself.

hello I have the same problem, I'm told that updating the firmware of the Lexicon MX200 is solved but it turns out that my pc does not recognize the device via USB to update, any solution? thank you very much

you SHOULD be able to. Just use Direct Sound in the host tab.

The most likely case is that one of the main output transistors (if which there are many) is shorted. When the protect circuit senses DC on the final output, it will not allow the output relay to come on to protect the speakers from raw DC. With the power removed, you can check between each outputs Emitter and Collector and you will probably find close to zero ohms. From that point you need to unsolder each of the pins of the bad channel until you find the shorted device(s) and replace them.
