All wireless security motions have a 3 min delay built into them. This means that whether the alarm is set or not when the motion detector picks up motion it shuts down for 3 min and will not pick up motion. This is done to conserve battery power. So I always advise customers to arm the system and stay away from the motion for 3 min total. example: 60 sec to arm system + 2min wait time. then try to trigger motion. I would start by power cycling your system. Remove the battery & power. After waiting 10 minutes or so reconnect the battery and then power. Other than that you need to be a bit more specific with your issues.

I usually find remotes on Ebay for anything cheap.

Try disarming system twice to get the fire zone to reset. If that doesn't work, try to downpower the entire system, including back up battery then re-power the system with the back up battery first.

You have to check the fuse inside the system . If there is any power surge happened then there is a chance for fuse become faulty. As you mentioned it would be a power side problem. first of check the fuse inside the system. Also you have to check the 16.5V transformer which provides the working voltage to the sysatem when it is line. If need any more assistance from me then you can contact me through fixya. There are modules that you can add to the system. What is the model of the system that you have and what add ons are present? One of those add ons is having a problem.

See page 17 of the ONLINE USER'S MANUAL for detailed instructions on how to reset the unit to default settings. Basically it says:

Push the MENU button, select admin and enter 3477 for the password, then press OK to confirm.
Use the arrow keys to navigate to UTILITIES, then press ENTER.
Then navigate to RESTOREPARA and press ENTER.
Then select OK to confirm and the system will automatically reboot.

Communication failure will clear itself once your phone lines are restored. Try arming your system and opening a door to set the alarm off, a forced signal will usually clear a communication failure. As far as parts, you can get them pretty cheaply from a local Alarm Company or dealer. Give them a call, most local, small dealers are fair and helpful. Easy to install yourself as well.

Step 1. With the cap closed, set the numbered dials to the combination line. The factory preset combination is "000". Step 2. While maintaining the combination in place, rotate the "RESET" dial indicator beneath the letters approximately 90 degrees to line-up with the combination line. If the correct combination is not set, the "RESET" dial will not rotate. Note: Using excessive force can damage the dials. Step 3. Set the new combination while maintaining the position of the "RESET" dial. Step 4. While maintaining the combination in place, rotate the "RESET" dial back to the original position. The combination has been changed.

Regarding the phone line, see page 24-25 on document below.

Use RJ11 connector to connect the phone to Simon, then connect Simon to the landline.

To program the system you need to use the System Menu (see from page 40)

To enter the system menu, press either the scroll up/down or Enter buttons in the upper right of the panel. Press the STATUS button to exit a menu or option edit mode and navigate up one level. Pressing the STATUS button while in the top menu level exits the system menu level.

To enter system programming mode, do the following:
1. Press the scroll buttons until the panel displays System Programming.
2. Press Enter. The system prompts for an access code.
3. Enter the access code from the codes listed in Table 9. The system displays each entered access code digit as an asterisk.
4. Press Enter.
The panel is now in program mode.
