check the internal fuses inside the amp its self these burn up real easy plus if it is them it will save you some money

yes, if you add a 1 ohm resistor to the negative terminal of speaker.

make sure you run your ground and power wires on one side of the car and the rca's on the other, keep them sepparate. if you have all wires running to your amp(rca's/12v power/remote), then you run the chance of either getting interference from the alternator, or if you have a pinched wire(usually by the door step) it may short with your battery wire. Double check your rca's and make sure they're ok and also check for corrosion on your wires.

Did you check if fuse are blowin on the amp?

Make sure the amp is well ventilated, it needs to cool down or else it will shut itself off, then when it has cooled off enough it will turn on again. Also, check your wires especially your power wires. Make sure that they are the correct gauge. If everything looks ok then there may be a fault in the amp.

The spark could be from the capacitors in the amplifier charging. Make sure the main fuse from your battery is still good and also check all the fuses on the amplifier. Verify all the wiring is correct and make sure none of the wires from inside the positive cable are poking out and touching the vehicle or amplifier chassis. If you have a 1k ohm resistor, you can put it in series with the amplifier power line to slowly charge the capacitors. You can do that by following the directions from the link below. After doing all that, remove the 1k resistor, hook it all up and try it again. If it still doesn't work, make sure your remote wire coming from the head unit has a voltage on it when the head unit is on. You can get a cheap volt meter from a hardware store or wal-mart.

they can fix it. it will cost more than having a repuatble electronics repair shop do the same thing. parts express. com has MOSFETS , resistors, ETC. If you burned a trace on the amp, rosin44 core solder has flux in the solder and you can repair that yourself with an iron , solder, and a little copper wirew.

those are the output transistor that are burnt meaning the outputs are blown out and need to be repair/replaced.

The B+ terminal on the amp goes to the Positive battery terminal with a fuse inline probably at least 60amp for this amp. The GND terminal of the amp goes directly to the chassis of the vehicle (metal) and try to keep the ground 18" or under. The REM terminal of the amp goes to the remote turn on wire from your deck, usually the BLUE wire. Some decks have 2 one for an amp one for a electric antenna. Dont hook it to the power antenna wire or your amp will only work when the radio is on. Won't work with the cd player. Hook the left and right inputs (rca) to your source unit (deck). Hook your speakers to the left and right channels of the amp with the correct polarity (+) (-) . Set the cross over on the amp HP-AP-LP for what ever application you are using it for like subs or components. There is a frequency adjustment for the crossover on the opposite side of the amp. This should be set in accordance with your crossover selector and speaker requirements. The punch bass knob should only be used with a subwoofer application. The left and right gain turn up or down the gains of the amp. (power output) These are set depending on the output voltage of your preouts (RCA) on your deck. Basicly you just run your wire to the posative terminal on your battery, making sure to install a fuse holder within 16" of the battery, then attach the other end of the wire to the B+terminal on the amplifier.

Rockford Fosgate was bought out over 10 years ago. the amps you have are from that era. Its probable that the 250.2 was made before the change over, and is just a better quality amp. the a series amplifiers were some of the first produced by the "new" Rockford Fosgate, and they sucked, along with most of their products since.

If your speakers not wired up properly sometimes the bass can shake the wire off and it leads to a horrible crackly noise, make sure it's securely wrapped around and tied to the terminal. Otherwise it could be a blown speaker or you are trying to put more power into the speaker than the speaker can handle.
