My Belkin Play N600 won't connect to my Blu Ray

Why is Everybody talking about changing the SSID and password? There is no need for that. That is such a wast of time. But yes, if taking the action restoring the router with a hard reset yes you can configure the SSID and password of your choice. But if you are aware of your WiFi SSID and password (and I'm sure you do) then it is not necessary. As for this WiFi complication, you have to consider how your WIFi home network is set up. First off, WiFi is similar to a cordless phone connection. Farther you are away from the receiver the weaker the connection will get.. And just like a cordless phone connection, WiFi uses the same radio frequency 2.4GHz. connection. Also, devices such as Blue Ray, PS3, PS4, and X Box 360, require configuring the port forward settings to enable full features as to what the device can offer. Reason for this, your ISP disables certain ports due to security measures and vulnerability upon home network use. No need to worry about security issues because when dealing with these devices which require extra open ports, we configure that device only to have the access of those needed ports. Other than that, will also consider how many networks reside within your area with how many neighbors have there own home 2.4GHz home networks. Reason for that being is due to the 2.4GHz limited amount of channel frequencies which is only 11 channels. Your routers 2.4GHz radio wave will occupy 1 out of any of those 11 channels Fq Cyz and because of this there can be various amounts of other 2.4Ghz networks using the same channel which causes wifi connection problems for all networks smothering one another within the same channel. Due to that fact, the 5GHz Wifi Connection has been introduced but the disadvantage to that connection is how limited the distance you have to be as well how most devices are not compatible with the 5Ghz connection which does not detect the signal. So by fact, WiFi is a very vulnerable connection. The only connection that is reliable is ethernet (Direct connect). As for your Blue ray not connecting, make sure that blue ray can detect the SSID your home network is broadcasting. Also consider how far the router is from your BR. If you see your ssid within the settings while you are attempting to connect to WIFI, it should display a signal and if it shows weak, you may have to make a couple of adjustments as to move your router or blue ray closer to one another or consider a repeater to enhance the WiFi connection within your home. If you need a tech to help please call tech support with your ISP.

I need to configure a N600 Belkin router. How?

Reset the Belkin router - To reset the Belkin back to the default settings - Press and hold the pinhole RESET button at the back of the router and then power for at least 15 secs. Then release the RESET button. Connect a LAN cable from Belkin to your laptop/computer's LAN port, open a browser on your laptop/computer and enter the Belkin's configuration URL. http://192.168.2.1 The default PW = blank (just press Enter) You can now change the default admin password. You can now configure the wireless settings to protect your wireless network and Internet from unauthorized access. Now configure the wireless card in your computer/laptop with the router's wireless settings. To secure your wireless network from unauthorized access, please click on this link and follow my instructions :- http://www.fixya.com/support/r3559128-wireless_router_security

My belkin n600 keeps saying no internet connection the light is orange but the computer registers the router

Alright. The orange light means the router has no problems with your inner (private) network or its internal configuration, but it can't connect to the internet by itself. So obviously, your devices, which are routed trough your router, won't be able either. I've compiled a small list for things you can check to resolve this issue:- Check if your ethernet cable is connected to your router. It can be a CAT5 DSL cable or a CAT5 cable from your modem, to your router.- Log onto your router configuration panel on http://192.168.2.1/ or http://router/ by clicking log in at the top (the default password is blank). Should you get any problems with logging in, you might need to reset your router (button on the back, hit once for restarting and hold for 10 seconds for factory reset).- Your problem is with WAN (Wide Area Network) or the outer network, so you will want to focus of that area of the configuration panel. Hit "Connection Type" and make sure you configure it accordingly to your ISP. If not sure, you can try and check the LAN/DSL configuration on another device that can connect to the internet via an ethernet port (the CAT5 from your ISP or modem) or just try the "Automatic" option.- Check out the "DNS" section in the "Internet WAN" section. If unsure, try setting it to automatic. This will inherit the settings from a parent device in the network.- Working with MAC addresses can be tricky. They are the fingerprint of your internet device (router, computer, LAN switches, modems) and some ISPs register your devices for security purposes. You should probably call your ISP and ask about it, if they need this configured specifically, they'll tell. - If you're using a number of routers or a modem and a router you may need to change your LAN subnet mask or routers IP address in either your modem or one of your routers settings. This is only necessary if they overlap on multiple devices.I have to say, though, 99% of the time it's either cables left unplugged or DNS misconfigured.

Belkin refuses to honor Two year warranty promise who can resolve this problem. I have the receipt and all back-up paper work.

OK, This will require a bit of tenacity on your part, No isn't a option, and NO I don't want a discount. I want a repair/replace for free, period. A large company will have "Phone" people that give you the standard answer, hoping you will go away, Go to the next level," I want to speak to your supervisor", most people just give up, the companies depend on that. Start a e-mail campaign, this is where the tenacity comes in, If you are serious, Send emails to Marketing, support, etc. Become a thorn-in-their-side. I have found that 90% of the time they will relent. Keep all correspondence. If your serious, or if not, "what the heck, it's only $50 bucks", they depend on that. It's up to you. I have used this method on Motorola, after the warranty ran out. Nikon, and other large companies, but I have lots of time on my hands and I am old enough to remember REAL customer service. And I remind them of that fact. Good Luck.
