Overheating When the CPU overheats then it will shut down (i.e. thermal overload) and won't boot up again until it has cooled down. If this is the problem is not fixed then the CPU will eventually fail. A faulty fan causes the problem or the fan and heat sink assembly are clogged with dust. Check the CPU fan to see if it spins freely, if not replace the fan. If the fan and heat sink is clogged with dust the remove the dust and make sure the vents are clear and dust free. Use a small brush and can of compressed air to do this.
The MAC address is the address that is assigned to the LAN and/or wireless cards in your laptop. These are permanent addresses and you need to access your laptop to get these addresses. Lenovo cannot give you these addresses with your serial number, they do not keep a record of MAC addresses.

To verify that, you can check the left and right side of your machine. See if there is any slot to insert your CD/DVD. Normally, there is a button to eject the CD or DVD tray for you to insert a disc
Another method to identify this is as below:

2. In Device Manager look for DVD/CD -ROM Drives
If you don"t see DVD/CD -ROM Drives this means your device has no optical drive hardware. An external optical drive will need to be purchased to run CD/DVD. It is also wise to check your product specification to see if your device has an optical drive.
If you were previously able to play CD/DVD and DVD/CD -ROM Drives has disappeared from device manager or your device is not reading the disc please follow > Your CD or DVD drive is not recognized by Windows or other programs.

Restart your computer & start tapping f/8 immediately and keep tapping until black screen comes up. Use the arrow keys to select safe mode the press enter. It will start up in safe mode in each corner, the icons are all out of shape and a help window will open. Close that window. Then go to: Start, Accessories, System Tools, right click System Restore & send to desk top.(The reason to do that will be to use it easier ANYTIME you have a problem.) Then do a system restore back to a time before you had the problem. That should resolve it. If not you will have to do a Recovery after saving everything you want to keep on a Flash Drive. First of all, you need the present password. Then straight after turning the computer on you press F12 or insert multiple times after each other. That way you will stop the normal boot and enter the BIOS settings. There you most likely will be prompted for the password and then under security you can disable or change it.
