which end feels loose, the dc socket on the tablet or the mains (240volts) end (three pin plug?). If the mains end, you need you need to get a new charger, it is dangerous to continue using it. If it is the dc socket end, there is not a lot you can do about it, as it is solder to the mainboard, unless you can unsolder it and insert a new one. Have you thought about gluing the dc side into place, so it cannot move?

20.3.2. RECOVERY MODE OPTIONS

No: Cancels the system recovery. Update firmware: Allows you to connect your device to a computer in order to copy the latest .AOS file (operating system) to your device and then install it. It sounds like the best thing to do is restore your tablet to it's factory setting, and re-install any applications you require. This should be a fairly straight forward process on most tablet devices. Check your user manual for instructions on how to factory restore your model. The process will refresh/replace the software on your tablet which I believe to be the cause of your issues.

You have a bad hard drive. Replace it with a new one. You did create recovery disks, right? If not, then you're gonna have to buy a new OS. sorry

It seems that recovery was not successful, it may be due to some data error or unsufficient power during the operation due to which the recovery process was not successful or incomplete. Visit service center or a professional to get it reloaded with its operating system.

Hello George, I believe that you are saying that when you push the power button on the top right side of the tablet the screen does not change ,it stays blank. If that is the case there are several causes for this. The battery is bad and will not keep a charge. This is usually the case unless the unit is very old and or has not been recharged when it should have been. The power button on the top right side of the unit may itself be defective. That would be a job for Archos. There is a contact page link below. Call them and get a RMA number and ship it in for physical repair. Last, the wall connected charger may itself be defective. A easy test would be to plug the charger into the tablet and look at the right upper side when the charger is plugged in. Beside the power button is a LED that will be a solid green color when charging and a flashing green color when it is finished. Without further information that is as far as I can go.
