Sherwood RD-8108 6.1 Channels Receiver Questions & Answers
How do I reset the defaults on my Sherwood RD-8108
I just got a tip from Sherwood tech support on resetting my Sherwood receiver, and it solved my problem perfectly. It's not the same model number but here's what I did: Put the receiver on Standby. Press and hold the Setup button for 3 seconds. When you see the model # on the display, press Enter. The word "Cleared" should show on the display. Hope it works for you also.
I am not getting sound
You should check the speaker wiring to be absolutely sure the wiring is correct. If the wiring is correct you should power down the receiver and completely disconnect ALL the speaker wires. Then turn the receiver ON, without any speakers connected, to see if the receiver flashes.
If it does not flash then there could be damage internally. If it remains on (this is usually a good sign) turn the volume up to about half way and connect one speaker at a time until the receiver flashes. You can single out which speaker is causing the problem at which point you should repair or replace the problem speaker/speaker wire.
Thanks. Keep updated for any more query. You can rate this

Sherwood Rd-6505 hisses from both speakers
The soft hiss that you are hearing from both speakers of your Sherwood RD-6505 may be caused by a few different factors:
- Ground loop: A ground loop occurs when there are two or more devices connected to a common ground, causing a voltage difference between the grounds. This voltage difference can create interference, resulting in a hissing sound.
- Faulty cable or connection: Check all of the connections and cables between your audio source and the Sherwood RD-6505. Make sure that they are plugged in securely and that the cables are in good condition. A faulty cable or connection can create interference and result in a hissing sound.
- Amplifier issue: The hissing sound may also be caused by an issue with the amplifier circuitry in the Sherwood RD-6505. If this is the case, you may need to take the device to a professional for repair.
- Power issue: If the power supply of the Sherwood RD-6505 is unstable, it can also result in a hissing sound. Check the power supply and ensure that it is providing the appropriate voltage.
If you have checked all of these potential causes and are still experiencing the hissing sound, it may be best to contact a professional for further diagnosis and repair.

Sherwood RD 6506 - centre speaker not working
Hi,
If the speakers work during the test, then the issue might be with how surround sound is programmed on your tv. You should look into your sound settings with your tv's remote. Thank you.
Connecting a subwoofer to sherwood rv-5050r
Hello Kingsley, you can connect an active SubWoofer to the subwoofer output, which is located on the back panel of your Sherwood
This model does not have an output for passive subwoofer (without its own amplification)
I hope you can connect and enjoy a good sound
Greetings Franco Dosil
Saludos Franco Dosil
