Can I save a WAV file to MP3 format

There is a free program called Media Monkey - it will convert WAV format to Mp3 (actually, it will convert any non-protected music file type - it's very dynamic). It may take a while to figure out how to do the first one, but it will get easier after that.

First, you have to plug the Thomson in to your computer, double-click "My Computer," and then double-click the icon of the Thomson. There should be a folder called "Voice or "REC". If it doesn't show up, select in the window: Tools --> Folder Options --> View --> select Show Hidden Files and folders. Now the right folder should show up. Then, drag the WAV recording to your desktop (or your "My Music" fodler - whichever works best for you), and the computer should make a copy of the WAV recording onto your computer.

Now open up Media Monkey and it should, after several minutes find all music files on your computer, including the WAV recording. Then right-click the WAV recording, and it should have an option to covnert the file type - convert to mp3, and you're done.

Good luck!

Need to know how to deleate songs on my i pod

Deleting Files,Pictures,Videos,Audio
Books, Apps,etc. from MP3 Player/Ipod
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hook up your mp3 player to your computer
Go to your desktop and double left click on "My Computer"
When it opens you will see listing that says "Devices with Removal Storage" your mp3 player should be listed there.
Right click on your mp3 player, and a window will open, right click on "Open" and now your files/songs should be visible.
Hold the left click down and drag it across all the files/songs that you do not want this will highlight the files/songs you do not want, release,
right click and then click on "Delete"
Now you mp3 player should be clear of the files/songs you do not want.
Be careful and do not delete files needed to operate your MP3 player.
Good Luck,
I hope this helps

Thank You

Cannot get files onto device from PC

This unit is actually produced by RCA. If you go to their website you can download Firmware, and Software to update the unit. You can also try to do a "reset". There is a very small button on the bottom, if you press this with a pen and hold it for about 3 seconds it may start working again.

Any suggestions to help so I can use please

dear rthawk

I reckon there could be a driver issue here with your MP3 player. I have seen a case with a vendored model that was aquired from Tesco, and in that situation, a driver file was accidently deleted from the MP3 player. Now this matter (if this is what happened to you) could be difficult to deal with, as how do you get the driver file back on to the MP3 player if your computer will not allow it to recieve files? The answer here could be to run the "found new hardware wizard" which is in windows xp under START>MY COMPUTER>CONTROL PANEL>ADD NEW HARDWARE. when you click on the add new hardware, ensure that your MP3 player is plugged into to a USB port which is in good working order. Now if you computer is asking you for a drivers disk, then insert the CD into a drive bay (CD that would have been despatched with your MP3 player) and follow the commands.

Now if this still does not resolve your problem, you could always try to format your MP3 player using the utility within windows. To get to the utility you have to follow this. START>MY COMPUTER>right click on MP3 player drive letter>PROPERTIES>FORMAT VOLUME. This will format the entire USB MP3 player and create a partition on it which can either specified as FAT32 or NTFS, and will format it accordingly to which of these you choose. HOWEVER, a slight word of warning here, doing this could inadvertantly kill off" your player totally, as to the point it could only then be used as a pen drive instead of a MP3 player. It is possible that your computer (and any other computer for that matter) would only recognise the player as a pen drive, but even here, i would say it is still possible to flash your MP3 player and force the driver file back onto the player.

Now if this has still not worked, there is a danger that you could have corruption within your own computer, so here, you can try using another computer to see if you have the same problem. If your coputer ios found to have an issue, then this is mostly likely to be software based, and specifically relate directly to the system registry, as this is where the majority of data corruption will occur. Now if this proves to be the case, just swan off your operating system after backing everything up, format your drive, and re-install windows.

Now before attempting any of this lot, i would suggest by starting off at checking things like blog sites and forums in order to see what other people have done about the issue relating to your manufactured/ vendored model of MP3 player, but the list of potential solutions above are things that I have done, and these seemed to work for me, but like I say, go and check those blog and forum sites and then choose the best solution based on what the majority of people EXACTLY say.

Now whichever of the above approachs you take, or even if you find something else entirely, please do leave me feedback on this, as so i will then have knowledge about hw best to deal with this in the future.

For now though, i do wish you all of the best of luck on this one, and do take care of yourself,

kindest regards,

Yours sincerely

Oz

Computer doesnt recognise when connected

Code 10 means it cannot find the drivers.

Most of the newest MP3 players are designed to run with Windows Media Player version 10 or higher, this contains all of the drivers necessary for installation and recognition.

Best of Luck.
