I have lost my info

There are two types: Cassette and Digital. Which one (Model #) do you have?

In the cassette model, press ERASE and Fast Forward.
Failing that, you may need to record over the whole tape.

The Digital modells will allow you to erase one file at a time.
You may have to press PLAY and then ERASE while the file is playing. If that does not work, press ERASE at the beginning of the file.
It will ask you if you are sure you want to erase it.
If YES, then press ERASE again.

In either case, the erased files are not recoverable.

Can i recover recordings from broken set top recorder

Most of these set top boxes use encryption for the recorded material. This has to do with copyright protections, a lot of legal stuff, and etc. Get another box of the same model, and activate it on the same account. Try swapping out the hard drive or SSD module to the new box. In many cases this works. Some of the newer high end boxes are now using SSD technology to hold the recorded files. If your box is with a cable or satellite service provider which is should be, some of these providers provide a service to transfer the files from the old defective box to the new one as long as the hard drive, or SSD module is okay.

I have a THS220 box and have difficulty recording programmes

Hello Joan, To record a satellite you will need two scart leads. Plug one end of the first scart lead into the "DVD/VCR SCART" socket on the back of the satellite receiver, then plug the other end into the "INPUT" scart on the back of the VCR. Take one end of the second scart lead and plug it into the "OUTPUT" socket on the back of the VCR and plug the other end into "SCART IN" socket on the back of the TV. To record, select the satellite channel you want to record, then, on the VCR, select scart input, (at this point, you can record a satellite program). To watch a satellite channel or recorded satellite channel, select the scart input on the TV. If you need anymore information, then let me know. Kind regards, Ron.
