Your fax machine *may* have specific instructions (if not too old) for this very common type of installation (many do). Consult your fax manual to learn how to set this up. Your AT&T TL86109 phone has no options for adding a fax machine.If your fax machine lacks the built-in ability to forward non-fax calls to your telephone or TAD, you will need to either purchase a fax machine that can do this, purchase and install a "fax switch" or, manage your fax calls manually - by only enabling the fax machine to answer calls when a fax is expected.If yout still have problems, please post the name / model of your FAX machine. I might add it does sound like you have the ringer off or the volume at zero. look on the edges of the phone for a switch to turn on the ringer for your phone. instructions for setting up the voicemail tailored to your needs will be found in the manual.

i tend to agree that some manuals are very difficult to follow so please don't hesitate to post issues that you still have

There is a way to delete all calls in the Caller ID log. With the phone system in standby mode, press Menu/Select (key to the upper right of the arrow keys). Scroll (up/down arrows) to Caller ID log. Press Menu/Select again. Scroll to Del all calls and press Menu/Select. You should see a Delete all calls? Press Menu/Select to confirm. There is no corresponding way to delete all old speed dial or directory listings. 1. Make sure the new base unit is plugged in and turned on.

3. Use the navigation buttons to select "Registration" and press "Select."
4. Select "Base" and press "Select."

Do you mean the AT&T CL81301 Cordless telephone? This model doesn't have an answering system. You'd need to adjust the number of rings for your voicemail system through the telephone company's system.
