Zenith XBS344 System Questions & Answers
I need to install a deutsch akustik d-85 surround
just install the woofer in the w offer position according with the diagram that is displayed on the speaker configuration on the driver ...(sound driver )...and if there is a second plug for the others ...probably it will fit from a main speaker in the green plug in in the back ....and from that will have wireless signal to the others ...or even from the woofer ...but another channel ...
another possibility is wireless from the main speaker ...but the cables are 2 for stereo out ......and from the main will be wireless to the other so ...no mater the distance so much as long as they are in range ...probably radio ...cause blue tooth require more tech...
DVD Eject tray stuck
I took a stake knife from the kitchen and pried open the tray door as I hit the eject button this got it to open, I then cycled eject and close, eject close a few times and this did the trick, I even played a DVD and that worked fine also. I had the problem with the tray not opening, and the display would read OPEN when I hit eject and I could hear it trying to open. So I wanted to make sure the tray wasn't just stuck or wedged before I took the system apart and looked for sripped out plastic gears or the belt being broken. GoodLuck

Progressive Scan Mode
Check for video out in the dvd setup menu, and set it for composite,
It may be set for component.
another thing to try is setting the the progressive scan option off in the setup menu, you wont benefit from it, but at least it might work.
if you already tried using the prog scan and your T.V isnt compatible, you'll need to reset. press stop to stop any playing disc, and press stop again holding it for 5 seconds to reset the system.
good luck!
Dvd door
I had the same problem. It started after I plugged a PS2 into the system using the A/V cable ports in the front. I discovered just by unplugging the cables the door opened again.
Surround sound help
A few questions...
What components are involved?
How are they connected?
Can you hear sound from the speakers for any other input device i.e. radio, cd, vhs, etc.?
I suspect that there is an issue with the way the system is connected.
I have the Surround sound output from my DVD player connected to the digital surround sound input on my reciever.
I'm using digital coax cable (looks like a "normal" RCA cable), not the optical fiber connection. I had to buy a special cable for the digital surround sound. A normal RCA cable would not work. I don't know why. If you're using a similar connection, that could be your issue.
make sure that the output and inputs you're using are compatible. A digital surround sound connection (in or out) can't be connected to an analog connector (in or out). Remember, Digital to Digital with a Digital capable cable; Analog to Analog with an Analog capable cable.
If this is not your issue, post back here with more info and we'll see what we can figure out.
Copy VCR to DVD
you have to convert it.....best by a computer useing a video card to digital converter. then if I was you I would clean it up and edit using a nice software program like Liquid edition...but that is expensize just use the moviemaker that came with XP...after you finish you need another software program like Nero with a special progarom that converts to dvd from anything digital. Also you must have a dvd writer. Dvd are 4.7gigabyetes where as cd writers are 700 meg.
good luck
Static/White Noise
Scroll down to the speaker set option. activate it then push the > button. You will see the test below the speaker diagram.
Dvd region usege
Nope sorry there is not a way to change regions. On the door problem there seems to be a problem with the timing of the gears or mechanism that closes the door system. Good luck
How can I take advantage of digital cable?
No digital sound comes from Digital Coax or Optical and in order to utilize a digital signal u need HDMI or Component although component wont be truly digital. Try running everything to the TV then the sound out of the TV into the sound system. If its a high def source like high def cable box then use the optical conection on the back of the aquos and plug than into your surround system. if ur system doesnt support Optical or digital coax then you need an updated surround system. If i misunderstood your question im sorry. If u live in CT though stop by Circuit city in North haven. either myself, Dave, or my associate Justin should be able to help you out. and dont worry we're not on commission or anything.
Disc error

Can anyone help me fix some record players?
It's possible that there could be a problem with both record players. Here are some things to check:
For the Swingmate Concert Hall Automatic Record player:
- Check to make sure the power cord is securely plugged in and that the outlet it's plugged into is working.
- Check to see if there's a power switch on the back of the record player that needs to be turned on before the main power switch can be activated.
- Check to see if the main power switch is stuck or blocked in some way. If so, try gently pushing or pulling it to see if it will move.
For the Zenith 4 speaker stereophonic record player:
- Check to make sure the power cord is securely plugged in and that the outlet it's plugged into is working.
- Check to see if there's a power switch on the back of the record player that needs to be turned on before the main power switch can be activated.
- Check to see if the knob is stuck or blocked in some way. If so, try gently pushing or pulling it to see if it will move.
- Check to see if there's a safety mechanism preventing the turntable from starting up. Some record players won't turn on if the tonearm is not in the correct position or if the record player cover is not closed.
If these suggestions don't work, it may be best to take the record players to a professional technician for further inspection and repair.
