Bose Lifestyle 12 System Questions & Answers
My Bose Lifestyle 12 - No Sound
What sound are you putting into the system? Have you checked that the audio you're putting into the system works into some other device? Have you checked that you have the correct input device selected?
If you have checked that the audio going into the system is working properly and you have the correct input device selected then yes, audio in but nothing out = something is broken inside.
Standard amplifier + Bose Lifestyle 12 Acoustimass module
well u didn't include any models # for the proton or "cubes" so all I can speak too is a simple heads up lesson about amp loading , most modern integrated amps look for a 4 ohm load for its speakers , this is saying total load , so if one was to connect say two speakers (plus to plus and minus to minus) assuming the speakers are 4 ohm already this would divide down to only 2 ohms (this would heat up the amp and affect it working ) but also if the speakers are say 8 ohms each then this divides down to 4 ohms (and the amp would see two as only one ) , also wire length between speakers counts as well , assuming most speaker rated size wire is say .023 ohms per foot this would also have to be added to the total load the amp see's , there are far more technical ways of running longer wires to other rooms but this involves impedance matching transformers and the like . so I'll not discuss them
My HDTV does not have
Just make sure that you are using compatible connectors and that your signals are compatible. Ie. analog out to analog audio input, digital audio to digital audio input.
I have a bose lifestyle
It could be bad soldering joints inside the unit. If the unit is moved and comes back on then it will be definitely that!
Otherwise it could be some device which is heating up due to failure and shuts down when it gets to much. When it cools down it starts working again.
Humming sound
I think it's time for you to upgrade to a new system. If not, try to see if you can get someone that's great with fixing electronics to repair it or return it to the manufacturer for a replacement.
Dead
Sounds like this unit might have shorted out. When was the last time this unit was in use. Without checking continuity of the cables first it would be hard to diagnose. A multi meter would be a good start Model number and wire configuration would be helpful also .Sending Pics are of these are the best way to help you
Bose lifestyle 12 no power
check inside for a blown fuse.also there may be a problem with the board it's self.check to see if youre getting power through the cord and then go from there.check something electrical in the same place you plug in your bose such as a hair dryer and see if that works.if it doesn't check your fuse box for a blown fuse.
The spring loaded wiring ports will not retract
The question is not clear and so I request for the full observation. The wiring must be removed and fully tested for any short in the rear speakers, check the resistance of the speaker before it can be connected.
What is the impedance of
Hello
The impedence of all speakers are [3.5 Ohms]. May connected upto [6Ohms] instead, provided the output will be a little less. Bass module cannot be connected with other sources. If you are intented to hear the music on an other room you can add speakers. For more detail, go to page [29] of its user manual, where all details and switching data are provided. All cannot be send by this window, as it will be out or capcity of this answer window. If you haven't its user manual with you now, send your email address to me by FixYa. I'll send a copy of it to you by return mail.OK.
Bose Lifestyle 12 Music Center
I have had problems similar to this on many devices and it is usually a dud LED (light). You can technically de-solder the current LED and replace it but it's not a job for anybody without very good soldering skills.
Check to see if your system is still in warranty as this should be covered. Any electronics repair shop should be able to fix this for you.
The radio stations keep going
A good antenna connection and orientation and the presence of sufficiently strong stations might stop it. Look in the manual which is available at Bose.com
