Bose 321 DVD System
I love my Bose 321 DVD system, but a few days ago, it started acting weird. I put in a DVD, and it reads - "No Disc".....and I'm not sure why. I cleaned the disc, and I also played a DVD/CD Maintenance kit - I'm not sure what is wrong. It seems like I have a problem within the system - what can I do?

Try unplugging all of your audi and video cables and see if you have the same problem I do.
BOSE 321 NO DISPLAY AT ALL
Hello Fousea,
Guru Techman is right. It could be the thermal cutoff inside the transformer. If your 321 however is the latest version, they have a habbit of blowing the fuse and MOV on a PCB inside the sub box.
if you got lucky, its all you have to replace. Power of your head unit comes from the sub box through a square connector esp type cable.
Hope This Will Help. Good Luck
Remote code

HD Disks
Salutations martyd50,
Only very specific players will play HD - DVD's. the Bose systems are currently only configured for standard DVD's
On a side note, HD - DVD's are being phased out by many retailers, and hardware manufactures.
Hope this helps.

Additional speakers for 321 system
No. You would need some kind of audio out connections on the back of the media center. The only audio outs it has are the
Acoustimass® Module – SPDIF connector.
Unless you were to hook up an amp before the Bose media center. In other words, you could run your TV to another amp's line in. You would hook up additional speakers to this other amp, then run audio line outs to the line in of your Bose media center. Some stereo amps have a line out or record/tape out, it is from here that you would run the cables to your Bose media center line ins. The disadvantage to doing it this way is you would have to plug all your media devices (dvd, tv, etc) into this amp first and your Bose remote wouldn't let you switch between devices. If your media devices you have offer digital audio, then you would want an amp that also offers a digital out for the best sound. Otherwise you will end up with analog out from this amp to the Bose media center and thus lose any of the digital signal information like surround information. So there isn't much point in doing this. If your gonna get an amp that has all the digital in's and out's, you might as well just use it with new speakers and forget the Bose system you have.
Won't eject DVD
I was able to fix this problem by disconnecting the Bose power cord from the back of the unit. When I reconnected it the door functioned again. Cleaning the disc helped avoid further lock ups.
