to go to ready status toner level inside must be in optimum level-check toner bottlle many times and apply toner.
How to reset the unit...
initialize all data:initialize all the backuy ram on the main board to return to the orignal setting.1-press the start key2-select(on)using zoom+/-keys3-press the start key alldata in backup ram is initialized and oriinal setting for europe country specification are set.

i suggest he waits a bit change the paper tray he is using ,as in use the side way but if the problem goes with both the trays then he should seek further assistance from a qualified person to configure the machine well or he should follow the operations manual book for clues to rectify the problem as it may be just a simple command thats he is not reaching for the machine to work as it is not commanded in the rightful way
