TV shuts itself off
I know that shortly after I purchased this tv mine also shut itself off occasionally. The owners manual says that if it is on dvd mode and it's paused or on an inactive menu or something for 15 minutes or so that it would shut itself off. If a dvd is stuck inside it may be causing this? I have no idea about the open/close malfunction.

Black Box at bottom of screen
The text mode has been activated either thru your cable/satelite box or your tv's. It is activated because the closed caption portion. If you think its because of your channel providers call them for the process to deactivate it . If it's your tvs check your menu's to make sure the closed caption portions are turned off. Good luck

Purple tint on screen
Color splases can show up when the sets are move from one location to another or when they have been dropped while moving it,another reason is when a speaker is placed to close to the tv.The tv has an internal demagnetizer witch gets activated when you turn the tv on,I suggest to unplug the unit for about 15 minutes and then plug the unit and turn it on,If the unit was dropped this problem might not be repairable.I hope the information helps .

No Sound
First of all try getting a Symphonic remote -
http://www.miracleremote.com/ not that expensive. Then you can access all areas of the TV, including all sub menus and see how the audio is set-up.. Could be you have it in SAP mode, (Second Audio Programming), in which case you will hear nothing...

When I turn on my symphonic tv I just get snow and no sound
If you are seeing snow on your Symphonic TV screen, it could indicate that the TV is not receiving a signal from your cable or antenna. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:
- Check the cable or antenna connection: Ensure that the coaxial cable or antenna is securely connected to the TV and the wall or source.
- Run a channel scan: Perform a channel scan or auto-programming to ensure that the TV is tuned to the correct channels and that it is receiving a signal.
- Check the TV's settings: Make sure that the TV's input is set to the correct source, such as cable or antenna. Also, ensure that the TV's settings are not set to "mute" or "no sound."
- Try a different device: If you have another device, such as a DVD player or gaming console, try connecting it to the TV to see if it is able to display video and sound.
If none of these steps work, you may need to contact a professional technician or the manufacturer for further assistance.
