You may have a broken belt on the tray

There are several things that could be causing this. One is the environment. Humidity and dust can cause this as well as cooking or anything that causes a smoke environment. Another thing is the unit might be having premature wear on some of the parts. I would suggest getting your tapes transferred to dvd soon.

Try a different remote. You can get an duplicate of the original remote from remotes.com: http://www.remotes.com/remotes/servlet/rs?a=gmi&uuid=12830395283450&smodel=WF719&brand_pn=SYMPHONIC_WF719 . Otherwise, a higher end universal remote may probably work. The ones that can be programmed by a computer are most likely to work. Check the manufacturer's web site for each model when you do your research to find the few that will work with your TV. (Google can be a great help.)

Some features are available from the buttons on the TV. Unfortunately that doesn't include the Setup and Disc Menu controls.

Hello, on some of these combinations you might have to try not only the TV codes on your universal remote list, but also the DVD or VCR codes also. One of these three will program your universal remote, but make a note: you may have a partial function on your remote ie: power, but no volume control or channel scan(up/dn) or no number operation(0-9). This happens on some of the universal remotes not all of them. thanks!

The codes come with the new universal remotes. Yes you can buy a universal remote. Some things on your set might not be able to be accessed though depending on model.

You can get a 75 Ohm to 300 Ohm balun from a local Radio Shack Store and connect it to VHF antenna but you won't be able to receive off the air signals for very long because in about a month all TV signals will be being broadcast in Digital Format nationwide and all you will receive is SNOW. You'll need to also buy a Digital to Analog conversion unit as well to receive off the air programming. Sorry for the bad news but that's the advancement of technology and mandates from our government (FCC).

Some have a tv or vcr mode, some have a game button,, or go to setup and just go through all the
options,, sometimes ull find it ,,, up down channel and vol.. up and down,, just keep hittin buttons u might connect with it...they are all different....specially universals,,, do u have the right #s for the universal in it? shut it all down and try it again..??? sry if im wrong just tryin to help.. Ill look for more if u have no luck if u want....

TRY THESE STEPS
>Check the buttons on the TV make sure they are clean and not sticking.
>Check the Remote Control buttons and see if they are sticking
>Clean the Face of the infer Red lens to the remote and the TV...
clean them with a small rag or paper towel (Do Not USE Abrasives to clean any part of your Electronics)
>Check the plug for any defects
>Reset your tv back to it,s factory settings
>And if any thing locate your user manual and find the 1-800 number

as long as you're not breaking any laws you can connect the video/audio output of your combo unit to the video/audio input of your vcr using audio/video rca cables where the yellow plug goes to the video input/output and the red plug to the right audio and the white to the left audio input/output.

Veri8fy that the belt on the side of the VCR mechanism is intact. If it is, then check that the motor works, by appying 12 volts to it,with the belt disconnected. If the motor works, it might be that your mode switch needs cleaning, and that takes some fancy unsoldering and soldering.
