Your console had a problem during the update process. Carefully follow these steps: Remove any disc from the console. Leave the disc tray open. With the disc tray open, remove the power cord from the back of the console. Plug the power cord back into the console. Do not turn the console on yet. Gently push the disc tray about half-way back into the console. Push the power button on the console. Important: Do not use the controller button or the disc tray eject button to turn on the console for this step. The update should now continue. If the above steps do not work, the console might need to be repaired. You will then have to contact your local phone support.

We keep losing connection to

If it's unsecured, there is a possibility that other people nearby are logging on to your internet connection through your open router. The more connections through the router, the slower it becomes. And the Xbox will drop is the connection becomes too slow. As for a better answer as to why your losing your connection, try relocating the router. Often moving it higher up will allow a better signal. Other times a wall or shelf which contain metal objects is the cause. The signal weakens as it passes through construction materials, and nearby metal objects will definitely cause signal degradation. Try moving the router, sometimes only a foot or two is sufficient. You should definitely learn the process to secure your router. It's like connecting your computer with a network cable to all of your neighbors computers and inviting them to see what you have stored on your machine. If their computer savvy, they can even watch what your doing in real time and even activate your camera and microphone! (It's been known to happen). Securing the router involves the use of a network key (think of this as a password). Most modern routers have the default password printed on the body of the router. Using a special program installed when you installed the router, you can access the router and set the password. For example I use a Netgear router and the program that it installs is called "Netgear Genie". You access the router through the program using the routers user name and password (default as shipped is usually "admin" for both. Then set up the router to use security. After this all of your devices you authorize to connect to this router will also need to use the same Network Key (password). It's actually an easy process. For example, after you set the security, the labtop will attempt to connect and finding the system secured, ask you to enter the "network key" or password, to allow it to connect. It should ask you to remember this password so it can connect without assistance in the future If your still uncertain, try running the router's setup program again. Most are designed to walk you through the process quickly. Just remember that all your devices will need to use the same password, the one that is printed on the side or bottom of the router. Usually it's something silly like "wonderfulwater456879" or whatever. Good luck and be more careful with your data in the future.
