Swich off tv from main swicher. Press i on remote control and hold it. Swicn on the tv from main swicher. On the screen should appear a service menu. The Button Assembly and IR Sensor needs to be changed. You can buy the parts from Ebay or Amazon and they are very easy to change and they cost no more than $20 That is the only thing I can think of other than the "transformer" which can be discharged if you unplug it for about 2 weeks. If you are getting the initial 'pang'(!!!???) noise, then it looks like a cold solder in the Horizonbtal Oscillator or Hor. Output stages. The set is trying to power up, but the Horizontal Oscilator is not 'booting' up. Since it is a new set, it must be under warranty....Get it checked by the company Technician.

hello, I had thesame problem. I tried everything, after 14 days, where was TV off a tried itagain...an the same problem: text " ATS... OK " So a tried hold 3seconds on Grundig driver button "OK" and then the started automatictunnig. After it - averything is function! :)
