To connect and select the input to TV to AV, you must have its remote control, as there is no Menu button at the front panel of this TV, to get into its menu option, and to select AV function.

If you have RCA connections (AV 1 or AV 2) will work. You may use the RF connection (Cable TV Connection). Be sure in this case you tune to channel 3 or sometimes channel four. Your TV will have an internal switch that provide an acceptance to either channel. If you use the RCA connections, you will have use the input button on your remote. hit your TV lightly on left side or right side or on top & then observe ..........you will get normal picture or it comes & again it goes....if it is happening like that then following is the situation..........after 4 or 5 yrs in some TVs on main board (also on circuit board that is fixed to CRT TUBE ) at some soldering joints crack develops....then due to loose contact picture becomes small in size or disappears or rolls ...........when we hit that lightly then those loose contacts joins temporarly & again picture appears for some time............so solution is ......TV main board should be observed carefully & most of the joints should be re-soldered.......only a good service engineer can do that........even after hitting TV lightly if there is no response then main board has to be checked completely........in your case iam sure it is loose connection problem.........joints should be re - soldered ...100% it works again................this problem cannot be solved by user unless user has idea about components( resisitors, transisitors, diodes,...etc) , have soldering iron , multimeter & other tools....................so contact good TV service engineer

it could be sensor on tv

try holding remote in front of a video recorder and if you push button on remote and view through video recorder you should be able to see the light blinking coming out of remote - if you see the light coming out of remote and it is still not working then the tvs sensor went bad

besides trying to unplug tv for a few minutes there is no reset for this issue

Bad Crt Tv better buy new one most of the times its bad soldering in the old tvs or blown caps in your case it can be Fbt transistor or alot other things the first step is to open it up and look :D

I had the same trouble recently, and I have a fellow who had the same problem. These tvs' aren't built to last 'forever'. they are disposables! If you are so fond of this tv, then get it fixed at some reputable electronic repair facility. Otherwise, get another tv!

Notes (for TV RATING and MPAA RATING):
● You cannot access the setup menu when the
“PROTECTED PROGRAM by ...” message
appears. Move to an unblocked channel
before you hit [MENU].
● When you select a rating and set it to
[BLOCK], the higher ratings will be blocked
automatically. The lower ratings will be
available for viewing.
● When you set the lowest rating to [VIEW],
all other ratings will automatically be available
for viewing.

if you have cable or satillite than you do not need a converte box unless you have basic cable where the cable wire plugs right into the back of the tv if so a converter box will be needed to viev all chanels

This is either bad connections at the vertical IC or a defective IC. This should be a small flat IC attached to a heat sink. It will be marked LA7837 or something similar. It will have about 11 pins. If you are not sure you have the correct one, post the marking here and I'll confirm.

Oh ok, make sure in the menu of the tv is set to Air and not Cable.. that should fix your issue.
