Canon 60d internal flash not popping up
Check the metal tabs inside the notable rails as they need to touch the upper part of the rails to allow built in flash to work
Use a micro screwdriver to push the tabs up to the rail
GENTLY as that was what was wrong with my canon digital body
I was shooting tonight with
Thats a big down fall with these cameras batteries that don't last. The LCD screens take alot of juice to run. One thing you can do is use rechargeable batteries. It will save you money. Good luck.
Hey,
Im using canon EOS 60 D> I have a problem
This camera is pretty new to have this problem unless you are using it with oily hands or it's in a dirty environment.
Anyway what happens is that Canon has two extremely tiny holes under the hot shoe where sensors are placed to sense the presents of an accessory in the hot shoe. What has been happening is that the alignment of these little holes is so critical that any shift in the body to hot shoe will cause the malfunction you are experiencing. This shift can be caused my simple expansion and or contraction of the two materials the hot shoe metal and the carbon fiber of the camera body.
Also normally found on a camera that's a little older then your Canon 60D is a build up of oily dirt under the hot show which then plugs these little holes rendering the sensor inoperable.
What to do?
The camera should be returned to Canon for service, yours could still be under warranty.
Another is to attempt to realign the hot shoe (good luck with this one) by gently tapping the metal part of the hot shoe with a plastic object. I used the handle of a wooden kitchen knife.
When mine stuck I was on a shoot for a real estate interior and was using the internal flash to trigger other slave flashes, the kitchen knife was there and the only thing I could find. It was more a desperation thing and I'd suggest finding something else.
Cheers hope this works out for your
7d - problem with shots remaining
Maximum for counter is 999. Counter is showing 999 because you have space available for more than 999 shots. If you've got a very large memory card it may tke quite some time to get below 999.

Top edge of my photo is a black diagonal shadow
Sounds like it could be vignetting from either a lens hood or an accessory. Are you seeing this in all photos or flash only? If flash, sometimes a wide shot with a lens hood on will block the flash output and cause the described shadow line.

Why is there nothing showing in my lcd after I turn camera on?
This is an indication that the LCD is not functioning. You haven't indicated the make and model of your camera but if it has a view finder, try taking some picture and view them in a computer. No view-finder? Just point and shoot some subjects and view then from a computer.
Are the pictures OK? If they are than you might want to maintain that style while looking for replacement parts of service tech.
