I'm having problems with my Kinolta Minolta

Even if replacing the cartridge/drum didn't fix your problem, I would suggest you to check the fuser and rollers/paper pickers. Remove the Fuser unit and clean it with a lint free cloth, don't use any cleaning materials like acetone or alcohol, clean it with the cloth or a soft feather and make sure nothing is stuck on the fuser roller. The fuser unit is just above the Drum cartridge and below the Transfer belt unit. Please refer the below screenshot (no.9):

Also, clean the rollers with oil free solution like water using a soft brush or a feather. Here's an example of a roller:

Even if cleaning these components don't help, you'll need to replace or repair the Fuser unit.
Hope this helps.
Good Luck.
Thanks for using FixYa.

Send a print to the unit, open printer when paper is in drum area (guess and open a door or turn off, to stop the printer) open carefully, remove carefully and look at the paper, are the lines there, pull drum unit, flip open drum protection door if equipt, and look at the partial image on it, If the lines were imaged on the drum, replace drum unit. No marks on drum or paper yet, posible the fusing section roller is damaged and marking pages. Stop test will show where defect starts.

A new Drum-Unit doesn't work

You need to reset the "drum count" - this is normally a combination of buttons that you have to press when you have replaced the drum.

Media jam tray 1

Here are a couple of links from the Konica website which provide somes illustrated instructions:

Media Jam Tray 1; Paper Pickup Roller replacement instructions.

Clearing Media Jams

Replacing the pickup rollers seems like a drastic first step. I would check to make sure that the paper being used is suitable for this printer and it is in good consition. You might try a different paper to see if it makes a difference.

Good luck in resolving your issue.

Please describe how to clean dirty edges on the

Inside these machines is a rather large, black sheet that is known as the transfer belt. This belt acts to transfer the toner from the drum to the paper, Though if the outside edges of these sheet become worn or mucked up with excess toner, it will produce a copy with vertical bands of toner. In order to attempt to clean this belt, you must first shut the machine off, then open the from cover and locate the transfer belt (may need to remove the toner in order to make it visible,) then, with a damp cloth (water) gently wipe it along with the grain of the belt. Repeat this step until no residual toner appears on the transfer belt, then reconnect everything and print several test pages. If the problem does not reappear, then you are all set. However, if the dirty edges begin to come back, you will need to replace the transfer belt as the wear marks on it are trapping toner and not allowing it to be cleaned properly.

Please keep me informed on your progress and I will help the best I can.
