CD Player does not work

I believe the extraction keys are more or less thin metal shims that push the locking tabs down and prevent the tabs from stopping the removal of the stereo while also acting as catches that allow you to simply insert the keys and then pull on the keys to remove the stereo. If you do not have the right keys, you should be able to make simple metal shims, push them into the left and right sides between the stereo and the mount, once in place you will have to pull the stereo out manually instead of using the keys.

No Power

You also must make sure that it is grounded as well.

If you need more help, let me know and please tell me how you were able to determain that it has power going to the radio. Which wires did you check and how did you check them.

Sometimes having the antenna plugged in will give you a good enough ground to at least check the radio. Most cars have the antenna ground connected to the chassis but not all. This is not intended as a permanent ground.

If all wiring is correct and no fuses are blown, yu may just have a defective radio that needs service.

If I can be more help just let me know.

See Figure 4
Removing the radio will require removal of the front part of the center console.
The original equipment radio has a coded theft protection circuit. Before beginning removal, be sure to know the code for re-installation. The code is erased whenever the battery is disconnected or the No. 32 (7.5A) fuse from the under hood fuse/relay box is removed. When power is re-connected, the word "CODE" will be displayed and will require entry of the 5-digit code for that particular unit.

WARNING All SRS wire harnesses are covered with a yellow insulation. Read the SRS precautions found in this section and install the short connectors as described.
  1. Disable the SRS system as described in this section.
  2. Remove the center instrument panel by removing the four philips screws on the top and sides.
  3. Disconnect the 4-pin connector from the cigarette lighter.
  4. Remove the two screws, then disconnect the 16-pin connector and the antenna lead.
  5. Carefully pull the radio/cassette player out.

To Install:
  1. Plug in the 16 pin connector and install the two retaining screws.
  2. Plug in the antenna lead, the cigarette lighter and carefully install the unit.
  3. Install the center instrument panel. Re-connect power to the car, and enter the 5-digit theft protection code for the radio/cassette player.
  4. Enable the SRS system.

The chassis of the receiver normally is connected to its ground, it should work, but if want to look for the missing cable please follow the color sequence at the rear connector, the ground wire is the third starting from the yellow cable, the second should be the red one, for more details about your receiver please check the user manual at:

I have aquired this unit, and when I turn it on,

I would go thru the menu functions to be sure the speakers are turned on first.
I would also check the pre outs to be sure they are functioning , then maybe just use them (plugged into an exterior amp).
